Greetings all, this is AzureKnight 773 bringing to you a special thread dedicated to anime and its similar forms of entertainment like manga, Vocaloids and others.
Before I go to this entire thread's goodies, let us go with the rules so here!
This thread has similar rules and regulations as with that of the original Reilly's Pub:

Now let's go to proper.
What is anime (アニメ)?
Here! These links shall help:
Anime - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Anime - Television Tropes & Idioms
In other words, these are cartoons made by Japan.
It has a lot of genres such as
-Mecha (Humongous Machines)
Examples: Combatler V, Daimos, Voltes V, Mazinger Z (and its overall franchise), Mobile Suit Gundam (and its sequels and alternate universes), Grendizer, Voltron, Ninja Senshi Tobikage/ Ninja Robots and a whole lot more.
-Henshin Hero
Examples: Karas, Tekkaman and its remake Tekkaman Blade, Saint Seiya, Viewtiful Joe and a whole lot more.
-Mahou Shoujo/ Magical Girl (Though a type of Henshin Hero, it is taken relatively separate for their caliber.)
Examples:
Sailor Moon, Akazukin Chacha, Magic Knight Rayearth, Card Captor Sakura, Futari wa Pretty Cure (and sequels), Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (and sequels), Puella Magi Madoka Magica and a whole lot more.
and there are more genres but I am taking out what are popular!
Now we have a similar form of entertainment, we have Manga (漫画). Manga is basically the Japanese counterpart to the comics like what Marvel and DC usually do but this time, usually it is monochrome.
Another similar type of show we have here is tokusatsu (特撮) or literally "special effects". These are live action shows that encorporate special effects such as the ever popular Ultraman
,Godzilla, Kamen Rider, Super Sentai, as well as the Metal Heroes Series among others.
Ultraman:
Godzilla:
RRROOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRR!!!!!
Kamen Rider:
HENSHIN!!! BRRROOOOM!!!!! RRRIDERRR KICKKK!!!!
Super Sentai:
Absolutely, these are no Power Ranger stuffs for Power Rangers is an adaptation of Super Sentai. If one says "What are these? Power Rangers?" Nope! Power Rangers came from them.
Metal Heroes:
Absolutely, they are not Power Rangers.
Tokusatsu stuff:
Tokusatsu 101 (Part 2/2) - YouTube
All Power Rangers is a tokusatsu but not all tokusatsu is a Power Ranger show.
We've got a lot these already so let us move to something audio. We now go to the famous Vocaloid Series. What is a Vocaloid?
Vocaloid - Vocaloid Wiki - Voice synthesizer, Meiko, Kaito
In simple terms, these are virtual singers. Programs used for songs and narration.
A very triumphant example would be Hatsune Miku.
Sample: Ready? Here we go!
Nebula
Miku Hatsune 3DPV - Nebula ãVOCALOID 3DPVã - YouTube
We have here a Japanese term called "Doujin" (同人). Basically, it is a fan circle either as a single person, or a group.
Single person example would be Team Shanghai Alice, or ZUN (Misleading as it sounds it is just made up of ZUN, or Junya Ota) best known for the ever famous Touhou Project, which is a very unique shoot em' up.
Multiple People example would be IOSYS. A band best known for their Touhou Project remixes.
For veteran anime and what have you Japanese entertainment fans, this thread may sound "Hey! I know this already!" But this is meant to have some refreshments and also to introduce new fans to this genre of entertainment. So, sit back and enjoy.
LET's BEGIN EXPANDING THIS THREAD! You with me? Yosh! Ikimashou!!!
