I am currently reading an manga named “Red River” (aka Anatolia Story). I like the drawing style of the mangaka Chie Shinohara. (I like manga with more normal proportion of face feature and body figure. I don’t like super big eyes and breast.)
Red River is a historical fantasy and romance. A 21 century Japanese girls Yuri, accidentally, magically travel back to Hittite Empire, late bronze age Turkey. The design of the clothing is very pretty too. I am temped to cosplay it ^^!
The whole set contains 28 volumes,, very long and lots of words too LOL, I feel dizzy.....I found it helpful to write down some names of characters and also places. It's easier to keep track. For curiosity, I also then go to wiki to read more info about Anatolia / Hittite / Hattusa / Mesopotamia / Mitanni etc...If I ever travel to Turkey, I want to go to Hattusa (capital of Hittite) too, I want to visit those historical sites.
Yes, a mix of fantasy and ancient history got me interest in the manga. The romance part is also very pretty and the scene is not disgusting hentai type. Yuri fell in love with the “very handsome” Prince Kail. She refrain herself to love him deeper coz she belongs to modern Tokyo. To go or not the go….Is Yuri going back or is she staying…. I don’t want to spoil it, even I really want to talk about the manga. The manga is translated into many other languages; include English too, if you are interesting.
