Psa 75:2 When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.
Psa 75:3 The earth and all the inhabitants thereof are dissolved: I bear up the pillars of it. Selah.
Reading the word of God is so delightful as The Lord uses it to remind us of his truth.
I have quoted the KJV above because it is my preferred reading for study and contemplation, but I was first drawn to this text when reading the NKJV, which I have next to my place in the lounge.
In verse 2 it reads, “When I choose the proper time, I will judge uprightly.”
This reminded me of Jesus’ encouragement to his disciples, “It is not for you to know the seasons, which the Father has kept in his own power.”
And, “No one knows the hour except my Father in heaven.”
God will judge at the time of his choosing.
Personally I view this as fluid. There is no predetermined day of this world’s end, God has not decided to do it yet, but the moment he does, all things will be fulfilled.
However, when you read the KJV, it says something different. Neither are in direct contradiction of the other, but the KJV reveals something that must be fulfilled first before the judgment comes. It is still determined by God alone.
“When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.”
This reveals one of two things revealed in the New Testament, or both, if you will, for I cannot see one taking place without the other. There may be those who disagree.
I shared this with my dad who has been my spiritual guide in my childhood, emphasizing “receive the congregation” and he answered, “Of course, God will not judge till everyone he has chosen to be saved is. He will wait till that number is full.”
This fits in with the New Testament revelation that God is waiting till all who must be saved are.
I perceived the other aspect of New Testament revelation commonly referred to as the rapture Paul writes about to the Thessalonians.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
All of these are at The Lord’s choosing and it is good to be encouraged by his word.
You may choose to encourage one another using any of these aspects. Please do.
