Spain’s Catholic Church has been accused of a hate crime after a gay mayor claimed that he had been banned from receiving communion by his priest.
Rubén García de Andrés, the Socialist mayor of Torrecaballeros, near Segovia, posted on X that the village priest had barred him from holy communion “for my sexual orientationand for living with my partner”.
