I saw this movie with a friend and really enjoyed it. I've seen Princess Mononoke and other movies by Miyazaki and the animation in all of them is just really beautiful.

Ponyo is definitely more for little kids (rated G, released by Disney) but the story is still great.

Have any of you seen this or are you planning to see it?

If you haven't I highly recommend it especially if you have kids. The message of the story is a wholesome one about true friendship and being good stewards of God's creation. Lots of good clean fun!

Being clean and being distributed by the same group that makes Desperate Housewives under another name automatically makes something be targeted to small children? Sorry, but animation major is epically offended.

*gets over it* Anyways, Ponyo was totally adorable. :D

Haha well like I said, I really enjoyed it and I'm not a small child. However there are fewer "scary moments" than in other Miyazaki films and the film is really presented through the perspective of five-year-olds. It's innocence is one of it's most endearing qualities, but it has to do more with the story itself than with the distributor. :)
