Physical proportions of a cross?

Hi. I'm looking for the physical dimensions / proportions of a cross. Something along the lines of: the crossbar should be 5/7 the length of the upright and mounted 2/3 of the way up.

I've cut & made crosses before, but every time I change sizes it's a job to make something proportionally right. I cut, trim and refasten until I finally get something that look right. Or I loose my template & have to start over.

Don't know about the dimensions of a Latin cross, but how about making it easy on yourself? What about the equal armed Greek cross? Or perhaps the Tao cross? (Of course I've heard that that one looks more like a capital "T".)

I'd suggest you to get some religious items catalogue and work from the pics.
