In the last few weeks, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has been in the news for their response to hurricanes Helene and Milton. The Biden administration tried to dismiss the hundreds of millions of dollars that FEMA has directed to the self-made disaster at the Southern border, using those taxpayer funds to pay non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to resettle migrants. Some of that funding has gone to address unaccompanied minors who have been allowed into the country. This is a very dark and disturbing reality that is emerging from the Biden-Harris border policy.

According to data compiled by the U.S. government, the number of these children let into the country who have been trafficked for forced labor or sex has more than tripled in the past three years.

The vice president and others on the Left describe their open-border, no-restrictions policies as compassionate and kind. Of course, much of the media eagerly echoes this chorus of self-adulation. But is true compassion found in the abandonment of justice and the rule of law? No — compassion is rooted in justice.

In Zechariah 7:9, God, through the prophet, instructs the people to “execute true justice” and “show mercy and compassion.” According to Scripture, justice and compassion are inseparable — justice is the foundation of true compassion.

Over the past year, nearly 140,000 unaccompanied minors have crossed the southern border. In many cases, their parents were encouraged by lax border policies to send them alone. According to a Homeland Security Inspector General report, the Biden-Harris administration has lost track of over 300,000 minors that were detained at the border and then let into the United States. According to the inspector general, no one knows where they are, who they are with, or what is being done to them. This is taxpayer-funded child exploitation. It is not an act of compassion — it is immoral and should be criminal.

This crisis has nothing to do with the dream of a better future for migrant children. It is about creating an environment of political and cultural chaos — one that benefits those seeking political power and control.

“Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion.” Uphold the law, save lives, and end the nightmare.

Compare this with the situation of a young man I know, who has come to the US legally from poverty in Venezuela, (I don't know if he has become a US Citizen yet or no), who has held a job here for over a year now, has a place to live, has a 'backer' here to look after him and his family, who payed his way up here and would pay theirs, yet the US State Department will not allow his wife and kids to move up here from Venezuela, except by being chosen in some kind of lottery system, with the result that he may even be up here and not see them till his kids are grown and gone from the family, before they are allowed up here.

They denied Venezuelans legal entry who had family here?

A year ago? wow... This is an insane Administration.

His family will spend a lifetime in the lottery. Everyone in the world is in the lottery practically.

A few are selected each year out of the lottery for low skilled workers, which we will never need again.

It is dark and disturbing to help the stranger? Here is a refresher...

Leviticus: "The foreigner residing among you must be treated as a native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.’”

Deuteronomy 10:19: “Love the foreigner living among you, since you were foreigners in Egypt.”

Matthew 25:34-35: Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in,”

No one can deny the will of the Father! And His final warning...

Deuteronomy 27:19: "Cursed be he who perverts the justice due to the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow."

"Love your neighbor" I agree with all the scripture you posted for those in the country now, but Christians are told to follow the laws of the governing authorities, and our laws don't encourage near-open borders. Who is going to take care of these strangers when we a broke? You have to wonder why the government decided to try to improve the system (late my opinion) in 2024 when we've had this problem for so many years. I believe the whole country is feeling the effects of this influx, which has moved the Democrats to act on this issue. Why does Harris say we need to curb immigration now?

Deuteronomy 27:19: "Cursed be he who perverts the justice due to the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow."

America should be judged for taking advantage of the stranger (Human Trafficked). If it is truly about compassion should we do it a different way instead of allowing criminals to profit not mention all the deaths and crimes of the trafficked that have occurred because of it? I don't think God condones this type of immigration. Where is the justice for these strangers?

This is sad because it is known some of the trafficked are forced into the sex trade. If we can't keep track of kids then what about about all the bad people like terrorists?

"In 2000, Congress signed the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act into law, representing the beginning of a large-scale, coordinated effort by the United States government to fight human trafficking.

Twenty years later, human trafficking still remains prevalent. According to recent figures available (Source: Global Estimates of Modern Slavery: Forced Labour and Forced Marriage, Geneva, September 2017):

  • At any given time in 2016, an estimated 40.3 million people are in modern slavery, including 24.9 million in forced labor and 15.4 million in forced marriage.
  • It means there are 5.4 victims of modern slavery for every 1,000 people in the world.
  • 1 in 4 victims of modern slavery are children.
  • Out of the 24.9 million people trapped in forced labor, 16 million people are exploited in the private sector such as domestic work, construction or agriculture; 4.8 million persons in forced sexual exploitation, and 4 million persons in forced labor imposed by state authorities.
  • Women and girls are disproportionately affected by forced labor, accounting for 99% of victims in the commercial sex industry, and 58% in other sectors."

A report by a law firm detailed the chaos at the apartments, including beatings that almost killed victims, shootings, drug sales and child prostitution.

Unfortunately, your understanding of these scriptures has left you misguided.

I could say the same for your biases and the way you read scripture to fit it into your narrative about the human trafficked.

This is not a conversation about human trafficking and certainly can't be used to not be " kind to the stranger". Thanks for engaging.
Be blessed.

But the strangers you are talking about are human trafficked to our borders except for the visa holders, are they not? This OP talks about 300,000 minors lost after being trafficked to our country.

It is not me who speaks of the stranger, it is God. What you are not understanding is our Father no matter who the individual is, trafficker, coyote , residents, employers etc., must ALL be kind to the stranger. His command covers all. If all were kind, there would be no human trafficking.

Immigration has worked on a (broken) lottery basis for decades. The tighter you guys make the rules, the worse it’s going to be.

The lottery is a different thing than skilled immigration. (Doctor's, engineers, scientists)

Unskilled workers are in a lottery, it's not broken, we just have more applications than either room or need...

What a tremendous shame that so many families were separated during the Trump years. Quite a number of those children were never reunited with their parents.

No, the skilled worker visas are still a crapshoot, too, and even when they’ve come through, leave the worker at the mercy of their employer for sponsorship, and have a bunch of stupid hoops to jump through in order to keep it active.

Perkins is wrong or lying. FEMA has directed no funds to the border. The CBP funds for migrant housing and resettlement managed by FEMA are designated by Congress for that purpose.

Another Perkins falsehood. There is no "open-border, no-restriction" policy in the US and there hasn't been for at least a century.

Well I would honestly like to see someone like Ramaswamy heading our legal immigration system - there's a lot there we can do better.

I get the whole God thing because you are correct if we could all come to a place and try to love our neighbor the world would be a better place.
Assuming I am misguided or have a poor understanding of God is your opinion but I do see the reality that the status quo in immigration isn't working except for the politicians.
This is a very dark and disturbing reality that is emerging from the Biden-Harris border policy.
"It is dark and disturbing to help the stranger? Here is a refresher..." You invoked scripture in response to an article talking about missing minors and you imply that this administration is helping, that this administration is following a godly principle, am I right? Is it helping minors even one to lose them to criminals?

I pointed out that the system does not help the suffering caused by being human trafficked before and sometimes afterward. Our government won't change because we won't change.

Something has to change! Last week my son's friend and co-worker was sent back to Mexico. My son was helping him with his Visa paperwork and I think a clerical error got him denied. I get the stupid hoops and sometimes the law is too rigid. Now the company has lost an engineer and my son lost a friend.
