Ok today I asked the pastors why church was cancelled last sunday and they said they just needed to rest. Dont know what thats about, I mean why would you cancel a church service just for a chance to rest? And last minute no less?

Sounds odd. Can you tell us more about the church? Is this something the staff have the authority to do for that reason? Were others informed of the cancellation and you were not?
The only time I can remember anything like that was when I was a pastor and hurt my back on a Saturday and wasn't able to walk well on Sunday. But, they didn't cancel the whole service, but had some testimonies and music instead of a message

Guys, she is a troll, this same post is in multiple boards with the same exact answer for each re-post. That answer she just posted is in another thread that has already been posted on this board, don't bother answering shes not serious about this.

Here's the other areas shes done the same thing:

Separate thread on this same board: http://www.christianforums.com/t7706031-2/

On the singles board: http://www.christianforums.com/t7707620/

Sarah, I am sorry that people are so offensively not treating you seriously on thread after thread. Very few people gave you answers on those threads, and then jumped to the conclusion that you were trolling.

If we are ever inconvenienced by trolls, we can just walk away and ignore the thread, instead of accusing. So what if someone is doing it for a joke? There's no need to attack back.

It sounds like you attend a small church, no? Pastors go through a lot of personal and church crises, just like any people. There might be health problems that he chose not to disclose publicly, for fear rumors would spread and it would impact his job or effectiveness.

Imagine if he'd had a heart attack or stroke. People would start telling him what to eat and how to exercise, and maybe their criticism would impact his health care benefits in his pay package. If he had kidney stones and was in severe pain but little danger ... really nobody's business.

What if his best friend suddenly died, and he was in no frame of mind to deliver a sermon? What if he'd been out of town, and his plane was delayed, and he didn't arrive home until 7AM. There are so many possibilities.

Ideally a pastor would have back-up people like elders of the church, who could open the building and run the service. Maybe he didn't have that support in place.

One of the previous posts reminded that pastors (and congregations) need prayer. Even though you were inconvenienced and not informed properly, it sounds like prayer was really needed if a situation was so drastic that the church needed to stay closed. This also might be a time to call the church office and see if any help is needed... meals brought, paperwork done, phone chains started.

The OP said pastors. Plural. They can't have both had heart attacks.

Dont know what you wrote origionally before you deleted it, but I suspect it had something to do with accusing me of trolling, I am not trolling and this is a serious post.

Lol well it's kind of hard to take it seriously when you repost the same question and answer 3 times and have yet to come to a different solution.

My Input:
I honestly don't think your Church would cancel a service without telling everyone. That just doesn't seem like something a pastor would do. Having a service is very important and a lot of times souls are saved in some sessions. I don't think they would cancel something that has such vital information. If it happens again, then come back and tell us.
