Does anyone here get sick to their stomach after drinking iced coffee or too much soda after a lifetime of it not bothering them? I used to drink Coke, then later Diet Coke, then diet Dr. Pepper almost exclusively with times when I’d have coffee after dinner. Never a problem. For a year or two I’ve been drinking Iced Vanilla Coffee and have noticed that with the exception of drinking a really small one, I feel sick after I’m done. I’ve also pretty much given up soda and usually drink tea or flavored water. Soda has been upsetting my stomach too. It’s weird that I used to drink soda all the time with no problems either, but I read that the older one gets, the lower tolerance they can have for caffeine. I also read that tea has less caffeine than coffee and I haven’t noticed this with tea. I just realized that the sodas I’d been drinking for years were caffeine free and the ones I’ve had lately had caffeine in them. Anyone else notice this change in their tolerance?
It's either age, or it's bad production process. Some batches are not worth drinking. Sometimes it's because the pop bottles sit in a warm semi trailer while on their way to the markets, that messes with the carbonation or quality in some way, I never buy pop that isn't refrigerated at the store. That's asking for trouble.
Just recently I've noticed that my usual tea (no caffeine) packets have caffeine in them.. makes me frequently urinate, and don't taste right. Must've gotten the tea of my kind mixed with another kind during the production process. It messes up my sleeping schedule.
Very strange that I can drink chocolate coffee (double caffeine) without any problem.. different brands cause different effects. Same with chocolate cherry coke (double caffeine). Same with different brands of Cream Soda.
The first isn't sold anymore in my area, the second I've stopped because of my age and lowered tolerance. The third I've switched to Orange pop.. no caffeine whatsoever no matter what brand. Another safe drink is watermelon juice or berry mix sold in cartons or plastic bottles. So far they've been okay anyway.
Sometimes the problem happens with canned foods. Those less expensive ones on the low end of quality, like hash for instance.
Sometimes at the last weeks of the month my grocery shopping matches my last dollars. I ate from one can with no unpleasant after effect but the next can (different meal) my stomach wouldn't tolerate it at all. No more hash surprises for me. I'll eat peanut butter instead.
By the way using flat-bread tortias dipped in peanut butter is a nice alternative to peanut butter on regular bread which I ran out of once but had tortias.. so.. .. they last a lot longer than reg bread which gets moldy most times before you've finished the loaf.
