I was talking to my sister about my belief in God. She goes to a church with about 15 people and the pastor/"prophet" says that most "Christians" are going to hell.
Here is a related sermon he gave: ("My Christian Grandmother Went to Hell | Shocking Truth Revealed") [no need to listen to this though]

This is supported by the Bible:
Matthew 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
I believe I'm in a simulation and there is a non-obvious intelligent force. I think this force guided the Bible but most of it isn't historical. My sister believes that to be saved I need to believe that Jesus literally rose from the dead. I pointed out that Bishop Shelby Spong and the pastor Martin Luther King Jr didn't believe this.

My sister quoted this:

John 14:6
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

She also said that non-Christian Jews aren't saved because they are deceived.

Anyway I have a theory. The verse talks about coming to the Father. The verse doesn't say that only Christians can come to God. That means that Jews in the Old Testament could come to God even if they didn't believe in Jesus. They just came to God rather than specifically to the Father. Also the Jews are God's people so they should be able to come to God.

So I was wondering what Christians here think... After Jesus died and rose did that mean that the Jews could no longer come to God if they didn't believe in Jesus's resurrection? I also mean the Jews that were priests in the temple? I wonder what Christians think about my theory.....

The question of the Jews is a complicated one and I am no scholar. On one hand they are God's chosen people and on the other hand if they practice the Jewish faith they don't believe Jesus is the Messiah.
Some say only a remnant of the Jews will be saved and others say that the Jews are saved through their faith because they have a special place with God.
I don't know what to think anymore.
I believe in Jesus as my savior, I'm not as dogmatic about other things as I used to be.

So to clarify Jews who don't believe in Jesus aren't saved? BTW apparently many Jews, such as the Sadducees, didn't even believe in the afterlife.

I was wondering how you think it works for the Jews in the Old Testament.... did they go straight to Heaven or was there a test in the afterlife to see if they will believe in Jesus?

I am not answering your question about Jews, but I am answering this question about what the Pope said a few weeks ago.

They had a system of sacrifices that covered their sins and they had rules to live by .
The sacrifices were symbolic of what Jesus would do in the future but they were unaware of that except for some of the Prophets who seemed to have some insight

There is this whole thread that discusses what the Pope said in Asia:

Ok thanks for the link.... here are my thoughts about the first post in that thread:
If Jesus said he is the ONLY WAY to the Father, but the Pope says all religions lead to God, then the Pope is denying the Bible and centuries at least of Christian theology.
I think it isn't contradictory to say that people could still get to the Holy Spirit without Jesus because that verse only specifically talks about God the Father. I'm talking about what the verse actually says rather than what it is assumed to mean.

Well, you are an "other religion" according to your profile, so you may not understand this stuff. God bless though on your journey into Christianity.

Well i will say, i do not think your sister is right on her statement.
My sister believes that to be saved I need to believe that Jesus literally rose from the dead.

What gives a person God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation, is belief in Jesus. In the person Jesus and not any acts Jesus accomplished . This means that a person believes they receive God's free gift of Eternal Life salvation when they believe in Jesus for Eternal Life.

It is believing that Jesus is who He states He is The Son of God/The Messiah, the resurrection and the life. That is the name that is stated in The Bible that when a person believes in this name of Jesus. They become a permanent born again child of God.

Who do you think God the Father is?
In Christianity he is part of the trinity and Jesus is eternally begotten of the Father or something. The non-obvious intelligent force I believe in isn't just involving the trinity. My belief in the Bible not being historical also applies to the Trinity.

Well, you are an "other religion" according to your profile, so you may not understand this stuff. God bless though on your journey into Christianity.
In high school I was a young-earth creationist. In university a former young-earther convinced me that YEC is not true. I went straight to atheism like this Christian "tract" talks about:

A related quote is:
“Ultimately, the controversy about the age of the earth is a controversy about the authority of Scripture. If millions of years really happened, then the Bible is false and cannot speak with authority on any issue, even the Gospel.”
I am convinced an intelligent force is there. One of the reasons has to do with me receiving a sealed upside-down Bible from my wife while in a mental ward:
What is also significant is that that version (NIV 2011) clearly is against the belief that everything in the Bible is factual.

I am an old-Earth Creationist.

I'm not sure whether I'm old earth or young earth anymore as far as my belief in God goes... I believe there is the appearance of age and the simulation only began fairly recently. As far as this image goes I don't intend on mocking God - I literally believe in what it is saying. Based on some experiences I believe that the intelligent force has a sense of humour.

In a serious way, it won't make any difference, help, nor hope at all what anyone thinks or believes or says they trust, if anyone - someone is not born-again as Jesus Says Himself.
I think if some people believe that most Christians are going to hell and this was a true belief (not misguided), they might put a lot of effort into truly saving people rather than those people just continuing as they were...
