Whew, this one is old bros and sisters, as the song Shine is now 30 years old, so before the 21st century and 3rd millennium bro. Combining a catchy hip-hop beat with some synth and guitar, the song's lyrics discuss how we must try to demonstrate Christ's actions. This song is almost as old as Star Trek: Deep Space 9, or Cool Runnings, a 1993 movie about the Winter Olympics, or the same age as Stargate.

Relevant Bible Verse that relates to lyrics:
Matthew 5:16 (KJV): "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven."

Lyrics (Shine, 1994):
Dull as dirt, you can't assert the kind of light
That might persuade a strict dictator to retire
Fire the army, teach the poor origami
The truth is in, the proof is when
You hear your heart start asking "What's my motivation?"

And try as you may, there isn't a way
To explain the kind of change
That would make an eskimo renounce fur
That would make a vegetarian barbecue hamster
Unless you can trace this
About face to a certain sign

Shine
Make 'em wonder what you've got
Make 'em wish that they were not
On the outside, looking bored

Shine
Let it shine before all men
Let 'em see good works and then
Let 'em glorify the Lord

Out of the shaker and onto the plate
It isn't karma, it sure ain't fate
That would make a deadhead sell his van
That would make a schizophrenic turn in his crayons
Oprah freaks and science seeks a rationale
That shall excuse this strange behavior

When you let it shine, you will inspire
The kind of entire turnaround
That would make a bouncer take ballet
Even bouncers who aren't happy
But out of the glare with nowhere to turn
You ain't gonna learn it on "What's My Line?"

Shine
Make 'em wonder what you've got
Make 'em wish that they were not
On the outside, looking bored

Shine
Let it shine before all men
Let 'em see good works and then
Let 'em glorify the Lord

Shine
Make 'em wonder what you've got
Make 'em wish that they were not
On the outside, looking bored

Shine
Let it shine before all men
Let 'em see good works and then
Let 'em glorify the Lord

Shine
Make 'em wonder what you've got
Make 'em wish that they were not
On the outside, looking bored

Shine
Let it shine before all men
Let 'em see good works and then
Let 'em glorify the Lord

Shine
Make 'em wonder what you've got
Make 'em wish that they were not
On the outside, looking bored
Shine

Let it shine before all men
Let'em see good works and then
Let 'em glorify the Lord
Shine

You are welcome, brother. A classic from before my time, but this guy right here is an old-soul with some modern, but also old tastes. :)

The Newsboys had some good stuff in the 1990s-2000s. The newer stuff from the 2010s does not give the same vibes, but "God's Not Dead" was one of their last songs of their golden years. If you have any good Newsboys stuff from the 2010s and 2020s, feel free to share. So, I just clicked on their newer stuff, and their song "Change the World" is totally auto-tuned, and is from 2013. Ruined the band in my opinion.

I think I have the radio/single version of this song on CD, somewhere.
I met an earlier version of the Newsboys (pre-fame) in '88.

Wow, Newsboys in the 1980s? That is pretty awesome. It is good that you have the radio version on CD. Was the radio version on a full sized CD, or one of these strange devices that are smaller versions of the CD, the Mini CD (80 mm), not to be confused with the encased minidisk.

Mini CD (aww, they are so tiny). Sadly, I never owned a mini CD, plus those could only store 21-24 minutes of music:
