Hi there,
We have a few games we play before praise and worship to help get the kids kinda unwound... but their favorite is called "back to back", which is like scissor, paper, rock; but instead they stand back to back (obviously) and on the count of 3 they turn around, and they can be one of 3 things: A snake(make snake motions with 2 hands together), a farmer (making a hoeing motion), and a bear (hands up like claws).. snake beats the bear, bear beats the farmer, farmer beats the snake (killing it with the hoe).. the kids get disqualified until only 2 remain, then the winner usually gets a small prize of some sort... Our kids really love it. Hope this gives you some help..

In Him,

there's a really cool game that you can play with your youth that they'll love, even if they don't participate usually. it involves a lot of setup, but it's so worth it. what you do is get a large enough room to hold your youth group. take 2 or 3 days and duct tape trash bags together on the floor, walls, and ceiling. then, go to the store and buy 10 gallons of pudding as well as two 5 gallon buckets. on the day of the game, have the youth wear clothes they don't mind getting dirty in. then split them into two groups on opposite sides of the room. on your count have the teams start scooping pudding out of the buckets and throwing it at each other. eventually the floor will get so slippery that you won't be able to walk without falling all over each other. trust me, it'll be one of the funnest, and most memorable things you can do with your youth group.

there was one game we played at a student leadership team (ages about 13-18) lock-in in January in our church's gym.. there's two teams, and you pretend you are trying to get across a big mug of hot chocolate (from one side of the gym to about the middle) on marshmellows (peices of carpet) and you cant step off the rug or slide the rug, and you have to get the whole team across without sending the carpets back. we had about 3-4 rugs for each team, and this was a great ice-breaker game for everyone because you had to be so close to everyone on your team and hold on to them so you didn't fall off.

Sounds fun to me :D

Anyway... I remember once we had one where we divided in to two teams. Then we made these 2 hugs "spiderwebs" with string (with different sizes of holes obviously)... the point was that each tem had to try to get everybody from one side to the other without touching the string. It's harded than it sounds because you have to plan for the strength and sizes of people... and you can only use each hole once. The first team that got all its members to the other side won. It's fun and it gets people working together. But I still like the sound of that puddingfest! :D
