And you have probably figured the answer to the title question.: Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible.

But do you know which nation is second?
It is Iraq !

However, that is not the name that is used in the Bible.

The names used in the Bible are Babylon , Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia ... The word Mesopotamia means between the two
rivers, more exactly between the Tigris
and Euphrates Rivers ..

The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.

Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and is a very significant country in the Bible.

No other nation, except Israel , has more history and prophecy associated with it than Iraq

very interesting, modern day Iraq is in the Scriptures very very very much soo.

I always figured though Edom, Moab and Petra were the most talked about place.. but I haven't done the math or ran through and came up with a summary like this... way to go, some awesome stuff to read up on

Regards,
fritz

1. The Garden of Eden was in Iraq ( No, it was not, there is much evidence that it was and still is in Jerusalem, even today, yet it is still guarded from us finding it.

2. Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization! Ok

3. Noah built the ark in Iraq - Where is there proof of this? ONLY if you believe that Gan Eden was in Mesopotamia

4. The Tower of Babel was in Iraq - Granted

5. Abraham was from Ur, which is in Southern Iraq ! Ancient Sumer, yes

6. Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is in Iraq !
Her father was Bethuel and was called a Syrian, and so Is Abraham BTW.

7. Jacob met Rachel in Iraq
8. Jonah preached in Nineveh - which is in Iraq
9. Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel
10. Amos cried out in Iraq !
11 Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem ( The leader, Nebuchadnezzer did, not Babylon itself)

12. Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq ! Assyria

13. The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq (Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the Fiery Furnace!) IN Babylon

14. Belshazzar, the King of Babylon saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq - In Babylon
15. Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq - He carried them to Babylon
16. Ezekiel preached in Iraq - sigh

17. The wise men were from Iraq - There is no proof of this, more than likely they are some that stayed from the diaspora during Esther's time, in Persia they were not 'wise men' they were Jewish sages who had the Torah and the prophets scrolls and were awaiting for the King of Judah to be born, they were not Iraqis.

18. Peter preached in Iraq
19. The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq!

The problem is that you are saying that present day Iraq who has absorbed all these other towns, cities and nations and are distinguished as such in the Bible are now all lumped together, using what prophecies?

"And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed" (Genesis 2:8). Then the majestic words become quite specific: "And a river went out of Eden to water the garden; and from thence it was parted, and became into four heads. The name of the first is Pison: that is it which compasseth the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold; And the gold of that land is good: there is bdellium and the onyx stone. And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia. And the name of the third river is Hiddekel [Tigris]: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria. And the fourth river is Euphrates" (Genesis 2:10-14).

Try Israel where HaShem brought his people to His holy mountain.;)
Actually, you missed my point. I don't think anyone knows where the Garden of Eden is with certainty. No one can claim to "know" where this is.

Two huge geological events certainly could change the heading of these two rivers.

And the flood was forty days upon the earth; and the waters increased, and bare up the ark, and it was lift up above the earth. And the waters prevailed, and were increased greatly upon the earth; and the ark went upon the face of the waters. And the waters prevailed exceedingly upon the earth; and all the high hills, that were under the whole heaven, were covered. Fifteen cubits upward did the waters prevail; and the mountains were covered.Gen 7:17-20

And unto Eber were born two sons: the name of one was Peleg; for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan. Gen 10:25

And the name of the second river is Gihon: the same is it that compasseth the whole land of Ethiopia.
Ethiopia is no where near Iraq today is it? What should be looked at is what lies in the middle of these three that we can point to on the map.

Also something to look into if you are that interested in this subject would be recent satellite photos of the area, many dry, ancient river beds have been located. ;)
