Aww the poor rosary. My first rosary was given to me by my boyfriend's mother when I converted to Catholicism and took an interest in learning how to pray it. It's so pretty that I was afraid to bring it to college with me, so I found this nice one for $3 at a consignment shop and I have that around my white teddybear angel.

Whenever a Rosary breaks, it should be blessed once again after it is repaired.

If it cannot be repaired, then it can be buried near the base of a tree.

A priest told me to try to save the beads if they were good, to make another Rosary or a Rosary bracelet, but to bury the unusuable part, like the old cord, old chains, or discolored and worn religious medals.

This time, instead of a link bieng broken on the chain, it is the first and fifth Hail Mary beads on the fifth decade.
You are obviously using it a lot . I guess the same adage applies to a rosary, "the person whose bible is falling apart usually isn't"
:)

I doubt it. It is currently missing the first Our Father bead as well. It may be time to retire this rosary.

I don't like it when Rosaries break... it's a bummer. Maybe it is time to buy a new one if possible...

Probably time to get a new one, then. I'm impressed, I've never worn one out!

I'm actually working on a project, making a rosary from beads and other jewelry-bits that belonged to my mother, aunts, grandmothers, great grandmothers, godmother, cousins, goddaughter, and best friends. Right now, I'm waiting for the last few beads to arrive in the mail.
