i heard Chuck Swindoll say this joke once during a sermon. it was super funny
its been a while since i heard but but i'll tell it as best as i can:
"this man was in trouble with the law and was facing a 10 year jail sentence. His girlfriends father had the power to get him out of it. the man said, "what do i have to do to escape jail?" the father replied, "marry my daughter and leave it with me."
so he married his girlfriend.
it was the day before their tenth aniversary and the man was looking stressed and anxious. his father in law ask him what was the matter, he said it was nothing.
that night he was tossing and turning...he couldn't sleep.
it was the day of the aniversary and the man was missing. the father in law was informed and went to look for him. he found him crying in the corner of his shed. he was super distressed and looked hopeless.
the father asked, "whats the matter?"
the man replied, "i would have got out of jail today"
