Margaret Howell is now a conservative?

I don't know how closely people actually watch internet news shows, but I get my news almost exclusively from Youtube. Here is something I've noticed.

Margaret Howell was once a reporter for Russia Today, and then she went on to the Lip TV, in which she's also been a guest on the Young Turks, which is a sister channel to the Lip TV.

Now, of all places, she is a reporter for Alex Jones:

This gets me thinking that Howell suddenly changed her political beliefs or she's just doing it for the money.

Should I be surprised by any of this? Is switching sides something that journalists do all the time?

Maybe some of them do it, yeah. I mean Michelle Fields went from Breitbart to the Huffington Post, for example. If it's a genuine change of position or just for money, I couldn't say.

The reminds me of the host of CNN's Reliable Sources who switched to Fox News, which had frequently been a target of his show.

Someone who doesn't seem to be just in it for the money is Cenk Uygur from the Young Turks, who turned down a multi-million dollar contract with MSNBC, because he refused to tone down his criticism of the Obama administration.

I started watching Infowars news again after I noticed her on it, and the more videos I watch, the more perplexed I am about her being on the show. I could be wrong, but she doesn't deliver the stories in such a way that sounds like she actually believes what she's saying. I think she just got offered better money than what TheLipTV had to offer.

Entirely possible. Sometimes you just need a better paycheck.

One thing I can say for sure about Alex Jones is, whether he admits it or not, he is swimming in the money. This is why he endorsed Donald Trump, because that's what many of his listeners wanted to hear.

I have been following Margaret Howell's career for a while and I can say with certainty, Margaret Howell is not working at Infowars just for the money.

After earning a master's degree from George Washington University, Margaret Howell interned at CNN's DC studio, but as you can imagine, it is not easy for a young conservative reporter intern to get airtime at CNN.

When she was offered a job on the air with RT's DC studio, she accepted it. RT quickly promoted her from field reporter to their DC anchor desk and then to the RT studio in Moscow.

Although RT in general does not have rightwing political bias, Margaret Howell's work there frequently showed her conservative roots.

Margaret Howell's quiet departure from RT was a bit overshadowed by the on air exit of Liz Wahl and the Twitter resignation of Sarah Firth.

Margaret Howell resurfacing on LipTV was rather surprising. The absurd leftwing propaganda of LipTV was a complete departure from all of her earlier work as a journalist and it did not seem to fit at all with her personal beliefs.

Going from LipTV to Infowars was perhaps the most extreme transition that she could have made, but it was a move from wrong to right.

I do not know if Infowars is the perfect place for her (personally I would prefer to see her have her own independent show where no one else is telling her what to say) but the conservative side of the news media is definitely more fitting for her than the left.
