Man is created in God’s image to be the human likeness of who God is and what God does as one divine being called God. Man is created in the human likeness of God by having a human mind to express his will, and by having a human mouth to speak his word, and by having human hands to do his work. These three human elements of Man are designed to reflect and express the three divine members of God.
The will of Man is expressed through his mind, the word of Man is expressed through his mouth, and the work of Man is expressed through his hands, even as the will of God is expressed through the Father, the word of God is expressed through the Son, and the work of God is expressed through the Holy Spirit.
The one Man expresses himself through the will of his mind, through the word of his mouth, and through the work of his hands, even as the one God expresses Himself through the will of the Father, through the word of the Son, and through the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Father expresses God's will, the Son expresses God's word, and the Holy Spirit expresses God's work. The will of the Father, and the word of the Son, and the work of the Holy Spirit are the three divine expressions through which the one God makes Himself known, just as the will of the mind, and the word of the mouth, and the work of the hands are the three human expressions through which the one Man makes himself known.
And just as the will of the Father, and the word of the Son, and the work of the Holy Spirit exist and function in perfect harmony as one divine being called God, even so the will of the mind, and the word of the mouth, and the work of the hands exist and function in perfect harmony as one human being called Man.
Man, therefore, is created in God’s image to be the human likeness of God’s triune nature by the way in which the one Man expresses himself and makes himself known through the will of his mind, through the word of his mouth, and through the work of his hands, even as the one God expresses Himself and makes Himself known through the will of the Father, through the word of the Son, and through the work of the Holy Spirit.
