Hello Emily, welcome to the Triangle! I just wanted to respond (albeit late) to your earlier question. There are a number of churches in the Raleigh area that may be of interest to you. Depending upon your tastes for "welcoming communities of faith", you may want to check out "ProgressiveChurches.org" to find a listing of churches that encourage members & guests to be active participants on their journey of faith...identifying personal beliefs, asking the hard questions, & feeling supported no matter what!

Just making sure you are informed. I hope this helps.

Sincerely,

RHolste

In Raleigh there is a church matching your description called Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran in downtown Raleigh, which has a young adult group and a variety of sunday school classes. This particular church has some sacraments. It is close to Cary. There is also North Raleigh Community church in northern Raleigh, which has some people in your age group but a slightly younger age distribution. This one does not focus on sacraments but still has the major holidays. I would say they both are somewhere in the liberal spectrum of believers, and I have visited both.

Liberal socially or liberal theologically?
Socially liberal. Theologically I'm not sure of the details as I only visited. They would allow some variety in beliefs although I'm not sure how much variety. There may be some belief specification for membership.

You joined just to advertise a web site? Its a great way to get your site to appear higher up in search engines, but of what good is it to the seeker.
person advertising a preacher said:
preacher could explain the Bible clearly and prove it using scripture, not other books! He also studied a great deal on biblical and secular history. He has series on last days, spiritual warfare, James, faith, fear not, fruit of the spirit, salvation, and giving (the proper way, the New Testament way). Also he has other messages explaining everything we as Christians have questions about.
Just don't drink the kool-aid.
