Looking for a church in Arlington,TX

My husband and I got married 6 months ago and just recently moved to the Arlington/Mansfield area. We're having a hard time finding a church, we both want to go to a church with a lot of ministry opportunities. We are currently minsitering on Wed nights as college ministers, we love working with youth in fact my husband is going to DBU for his masters to possibly become a youth pastor someday. If anyone have any suggestions please let me know!

Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas is not too far from Arlington and they have great opportunities for God's people.

We have first Wednesday service tomorrow Jan 5th at 7pm, maybe you guys can make it.

It is an awesome worship service.

Oh, well I was going to suggest coming to my Church, Altamesa Church of Christ in SW Fort Worth. It's fabulous. But it'd probably weird you out b/c we sing a cappella! LOL

Well I don't know about weird me out. I understand the beliefs the church of Christ carry. However, my husband and I are musicians and singers and we believe the Lord has given us those abilities to use in the church so we do differ in beliefs there so yeah that probably wouldn't work for us.

Well, please feel free to visit. We need singers! We are having our Annual Friends Day on Super Bowl Sunday. Church is at 10:15 am (Bible Class is at 9:00) we'd love to see you there! My dh and I are in charge of the drama ministry so if that was a way you like to serve, you're more than welcome. We love to share the Word!

I'm pretty sure that Fellowship Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention...

They're just a different kind of southern baptist. Also, I've heard great things about Travis Avenue Baptist over in Ft. Worth. There's alot of people at southwestern seminary that work in the churches over in Ft. Worth...The guy I interned in student ministry with was a youth intern at Travis Avenue. He seemed to like it.

I believe you are correct however, it is more of a seeker church. It's not something we're looking for.

When we lived in that area we attended St. Andrews United Methodist at 360 and Green Oaks. I know you said you were looking for a Baptist church, but this is not a tradtional Methodist church. It is contemporary and used a lot of the praise songs that we'd heard at Baptist churches. My husband grew up Baptist and we met at the Baptist Student Union at Texas A&M. I grew up in a traditional Methodist church but we both loved St. Andrews and felt right at home.

I attend South Park Baptist Church. It is located in South Fort Worth. My personal opinion is that you won't find a better church in the metroplex. Our website is www.spbcfw.org. You can check it out and see for yourself. We have an audio sermons section, so you can even here what our pastor has to say without coming to church.
