  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Life is full of miseries, heartaches, and disappointments. It has its ups and its downs. Life is not always fair, either. Everything is not equal, even if they say it is. Everyone is not who they say they are, either. There is so much deception in the world and within the gatherings of “the church.” And many people are looking for answers and for hope and for healing for their wounded hearts. But not all of them are finding the truth.

So, God is saying to his people throughout the world that we are not to fear what others are doing, and we are not to be looking to humans for our answers, or for our salvation, but that we are to look to God, instead of to men (or to women) to save us. For God is our only hope for what ails us.

Look to God

An Original Work / November 11, 2016

Fear not. Look to God.
He will strengthen you. He is your Rock.
He’ll meet all your needs.
Rest in Him, and be filled with His peace.
When sorrow fills your life, pray to the Lord.
Believe His promises. Trust in His Word.
He’ll lead you each day.
Give your life to Him. Follow His ways.

Lean on Him today.
He will comfort you. Trust Him always.
Read His Word and pray.
Tell the world of His love and His grace.
When trials come your way, be not afraid.
God watches over you. Be not dismayed.
He’ll work all for good,
For the called of God. Jesus, they love.

Sing songs. Praise your Lord.
Lift your voice to Him. Shout out His Word.
He forgave your sins,
Cleansed your heart. You are made new within.
When you are faced with temptation to fear,
Remember God will be with you. He’s near.
He’ll take care of you.
He will keep you in His love, tis true.

I like your poem. Ooh, 1 Chronicles 16:11 discusses about Looking to God: "Look to the LORD and his strength; seek his face always."

Looks like that will be a topic in my Bible analysis on meditating on the Gospel and God, for tomorrow. :)
