Hello folks. My proprietary laptop charger is on the last legs of life, so I found out that one can charge a laptop slowly overnight using a USB-C charger for a phone. The phone charger is 15-20 watts, while the laptop uses a 44W charger. So, it takes 3x longer to charge, but it works (while laptop is off or asleep). Finally, if you are on the go, one can use a power bank (at least 30 watts) to slowly charge the laptop.

Charging Surface Book 2 with USB-C (and power bank), video duration = 2 minutes, not my video, as I do not make videos

You can also buy any variety of laptop USB-C power supply for this. Very few new laptops are getting shipped with proprietary connectors these days.

If you buy something reasonable (45-90W) you'll generally be covered for anything, and can use the power supply with any other USB-C device.

Agreed. I am just giving a life hack for those who do not have 60W chargers. My laptop is from 2018, so it has a combo of proprietary and standard connectors.

Yeah my mini laptop has a USB-C port, at first the battery died and I could not find the power port on it to recharge it, but then I saw that the USB-C port doubled as a power jack. It charges to full in like 30 minutes.
