Last night i had a pretty freaky dream. Was riding at night with my gf and all of a sudden the night turned to day light and we drove into incredibly bright light. I thought to myself this is it. I couldnt see anything and i never felt myself lift up so i thought oh no im being left behind. The light faded for a sec and i saw my gf was gone. I began to pray no Jesus take me too, etc. then i woke up. So im a bit anxious now about that dream. Especially since lately the past few weeks ive felt my faith backslide bigtime. Doubts have plagued my mind like “is all this real?” “Is God real” “can i trust the Bible hasnt it been corrupted?” “Why r so many books missing from the Bible what kind of agenda was that?” Just questioning it all really. And if i question like that i must
Not even be saved. Its had me pretty down for awhile now. Feeling like i need answers to all this but im not sure how to get a truthful answer to it all. Has anyone dealt with anythig like this? How can i fully 100% believe? And does my dream mean ill be left behind or doomed for hell?

The only reliable and sure truth is God's word. Dreams are not God's word. Most backsliding is due to slacking off praying and studying God's word. We need the Word the way we need to eat. No food is physical weakness. No time with the Lord is spiritual weakness.

So, if you are a Christian and you feel like you have been going downhill > there are a few things which can help to bring us down.

unforgiveness

immorality

arguing

complaining

By giving in to such things, wrong things can help to keep you weak so you can be degraded spiritually and emotionally.

Have you been honorable with her, encouraging her to and welcoming her to be moral with you? And have you helped her to keep out of arguing, by willingly sacrificing things you might want, if they do not really matter?

Also, worry is very destructive, abusive, and a pathological liar.

The pre-trib rapture is a false doctrine. It damages people. Here's a support group for many who were indoctrinated with this idea that does not come from the bible. #raptureanxiety hashtag on Twitter

Dreams have no relevance to reality other than incoherent bits and pieces of latent thought and manipulated by anxiety, fear, stress, and etc. into some kind of balancing act for our emotional balance. They have necessarily no significance to our cognitive reality other than by accidents of chance. I propose that those who seek the experiential, emotional plane of existence and escape the plane of responsible functionality and accountability, may attempt to place unreasonable and irrational significance upon their dreams, along with other behaviors

Greetings and Salutations Zimmer36,
I would like to encourage you in your faithfulness to The Lord. The reason why some books were left out is because authorship couldn't be proven. They were dated after the author had died. The new testament cannon is people who were with Jesus or the Apostles. All the books can be proven were written by who claimed to write them. Also you can be assured God has protected His written word. His Holy Spirit will lead you into all truth.
Your in a spiritual battle the devil and his angels wanna destroy your faith. I would encourage your faith and trust in Jesus. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will direct your steps, and present you holy and perfect through His sanctification. God be with you.

You are blessed to have such a dream. It has put the fear of the Lord in you at a critical time. Instead of thinking on all those doubts, why not think of all the things God has given you and others in your past that you know? Praise God for all of that. Also, you need to start rebuilding your walls like Nehemiah. Start with the cornerstone of Jesus, confess your sin, your unbelief and start rebuilding through faith. How do you increase faith? Rom 10:17, "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ." Make your heart better ground, hear the word and build your walls that will keep God in and the devil out. In the past you may have thought you will simply deal with things at a much later date. This could be the end times so why wait? The biggest lie though is that setting our own lifestyle is better. Absolutely not..allowing God to set your lifestyle will make you far better off.

Ask yourself some questions and answer truthfully. Believe the word.
Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Is Jesus your Lord?
Do you believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead?

Seems pretty timely since you are currently within a very high watch time for the rapture. If you answer the question 'how do I know I'm saved' with any item that includes something you are doing, there is a reason to fear. Trust the finished work of Christ alone for the forgiveness of your sins. That's the only way.

Hi Zimmer,

I can agree with most of what's been offered here. Here's how I would sum it up had nobody else said it first, for what it's worth to you.

While our dreams are very likely NOT prophetic and I don't see much evidence for a pre-trib rapture in the Scriptures personally, your dreams are an opportunity for your thoughts to come together to show you things that you are either aware of or maybe not paying attention to, to bring certain concerns to the light so that you manage them. So, yes, it can be a blessing to you to have had this dream, BECAUSE our relationship with God is the most important aspect of our lives, and from this dream it appears to me you are looking at this with concern to want to secure your basis of building your life. You are looking at the fact that we can't build on a lie, even in the name of religion, and you are looking at the fact that you might not be living up to what you are thinking are the expectations. Good for you for bringing all of this out onto the light, out onto the table. Don't be afraid to inspect every aspect in the light.

Religion hasn't always been true to the Scriptures, but the word of God (what God said in the Bible) and the Word of God (Jesus Himself, as the Son of God and every word that Jesus spoke) hold your answers. It is actually up to you what you build of your life and Jesus made it clear that in the end He will separate out those that acted righteously from those that didn't. By saying this I'm not saying you save yourself because only the sacrifice of Jesus could atone for our sinfulness. But in your dream it appear that you are looking at what you need to do, and I'm agreeing with the Peter in the Bible that you add all diligence to make your calling and election sure.

If I were in the place I'm imaging you are from your brief post, I think I would want to hear encouragement that it sounds like your heart wants to fully turn to God, and God doesn't turn away from those people - that's what He wants from all of us.

In order to see what that means, read what God said. I'd encourage you to read through what God said. You could start in Genesis to see what God said to Adam, to Noah, and to Abraham. You could even start in Deuteronomy to see what God said to Moses to tell the community of people. At that point, once you've read what is called "The Law," jump over to see what Jesus said because you'll find that He says the same thing, straightening out the distortions of years of religion. As you ponder what you are reading, try to use the words of God to set aside the subsequent years of "Christian" religious history since the time of Jesus, as it's unlikely we evolved to a better understanding than what God told us from the beginning, and He hasn't changed His mind about His message in all these years. Now take that understanding back to the book of Proverbs and gain some additional ground on the good sense that our loving God offers us. Read the history in the Bible to see what people did as they worked through their reactions to God (mostly from disobeying, but sometimes by obeying) and read in the prophets what God told them as they went through those situations. A good commentary will help you put the history and the prophets in parallel to help you understand. Reading them separately might have you wondering why God was mad, but putting the anger together with the awful evilness of what people were doing will help you make sense of it.

Try building on that, which should have you building on the sure foundation of doing the right thing (agreeing with God in the process) and of having a better discernment what the right thing to do is.

He is no fool to trade what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose. Be encouraged that this will be well worth the life of effort you put into growing closer to (not the God of our imagination or the God of religion but) The Eternal God as He is.

‘And it shall be in the last days,’ God says,‘That I will pour forth of My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,And your young men shall see visions,And your old men shall dream dreams;"
Acts 2:17

Just curious if you've been a believer for 26 years, and suddenly you have 3 visions which cause massive movement in your life, to also Fear the Lord and you've never had anything with such gravity nor can I explain it beyond them being visions (which I'm fearful if true)...

Do you think that the verse above, dreams being dismissed also means my visions are to be dismissed?

Could this be the times or entering the Judgement seat soon? We can't gather to discuss, so the word or warning wouldn't go out... Satan devised his attack on the church well, its worldwide and indirect.

I've had dreams that have come to pass, one of them big time. I do not dismiss dreams as a way that God speaks. However, if the dream in any contradicts God's word, fills someone with pride or with fear, I am very much inclined to query the source of the dream. Fearing the Lord is one thing. Fearing the future, that's different. Lord Jesus said that when we see the signs, we should rejoice because our redemption is coming close. The persecuted church is the growing church in many places. There is a price to pay so Christians are for real. I don't seek persecution. I hope that Christians will wake up to what's going on before that happens.

There is a great deal of talk about revival. I remain to be convinced that it's close. The church needs sorting out first. One so-called prophet is saying that the Holy Spirit is Lord. Who will call out that heresy? I've contacted his group and got no response. Yes, we are in the last days. God's grace is sufficient.

Doubting does not mean that you are not saved. However, you need to answer the doubts. Also, you need to ensure that your Christian life is on track. Do you study the Bible? Do you confess when you sin so that you can keep clean spiritually? Do you pray and seek God? If not, you become weak spiritually and Satan will attack you.

Christians need to read the parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Those who diligently maintain their Christian lives will be welcomed to the feast. Those who are careless and dry up spiritually will miss out. It's not an issue of heaven or hell, but it is a matter of placement in God's kingdom. The careless and lazy will be far away from Lord Jesus, those who are diligent will be close.
