triscuits definately have no leaven! And I think my husband is about to throw a fit because he has had potato salad in his lunch all week. He has to bring things that you don't heat up, he's in construction. It's hard to be creative without bread! So potato salad has no leaven, at least mine doesn't!

While you need to search out the leaven for Chag Motzi, I believe the L-RD teaches us as believers, that no amount of searching can find out every scrap of leaven in our lives. We still will miss crumbs, and that is what we NEED Him for. We can't do it alone, we were not created to do it alone. we need Him, and He provided that Lamb for us long ago.

Because this is a sin filled world it has much leaven in it.

Did you ever wonder why did G-d use leaven as a picture for sin?

Did you know that yeast is microscopic and lives everywhere? it is in the air we breath, it is what finds 'food' and then lives off it, causing it to decay ( 'death') it is the perfect picture of this fallen world.

Sin is every where and in every thing, sin is what brings death. When things have yeast, they fester and rot, which shows us what happens in the grave and in our spirit if we don't have the sinless one living within us.

Trying to get all the leaven out, even when we sweep our homes clean and disposed of every crumb, yeast is still in our homes, in our lives, in our bodies. It is in the air. Just looking for a host to attach onto and to bring rotting and death too.

Thank G-d we have Yeshua, and HE brings life!

Those thinking that they don't have yeast in something I will give an example.
Someone mentioned making their own pie crusts and how they had no yeast in them.

When you mix water with flour you create an environment that is welcoming to the yeast that is in the very air of your house.

If you do not bake the crust immediately ( within 18 minutes is set time) after mixing the water and flour ( and any other ingredient) then your pie crust has started to leaven, the yeast has settled in and is starting the fermentation process.

That is why matzah for Passover is baked under strict conditions, and not all matzah sold is to be used for Passover.

See how quick sin ( leaven ) can rise up and set in? that is the picture I think Messiah wants us to see as we commemorate each passover. and feast of unleavened bread.

He is the only thing that can save us from this leaven of sin that is everywhere and works so quickly.

Every year when I start the cleaning, I thank Him for His sacrifice, because It shows me more than any other example how much we truly NEED Him, and how inadequate we are without him, but with HIM we are conquerors of sin and death!

Halleluyah!!!

Amen Z that was awesome! I asked ABBA yesterday, Why 7 days of eating unleaven, why 7 days with no leaven in our homes...He spoke to my heart and said....That is MY Shavua' Chuppah (Honeymoon) with you. Wow I though and am I looking forward to the end of that? Nope I am not I decide but alas all good things must come to an end (in this life) and so does my week of unleaven bread...Next year I think I will ask him sooner these questions in my heart.....

That is beautiful, I was wondering the same thing too, if it was like a pre- Sukkot. :)

We made sure this year to eat matzah at every meal, so we really realized we were in unleavened bread week. There are many meals you can prepare without leaven that I think we need a reminder so we ate it. I feel sorry for those on a low carb or no carb diet, they dont' even realize it.l :(

This is very true Z. Each year after the Feast starts I find something with leaven in the house. Also grapes have a white layer on them that will not come off unless you rub with your finger. This is yeast spoors that are in the air and settle on grapes. This is why grapes make good wine. Each grape by themselves has all the ingredients to ferment into wine. Water, sugar, yeast.
It’s funny how we crave yeast products after 7 days. And lets face it some of the things with yeast are very pleasing.

Amen Torah.... it also got me to thinking about the mold that can be found, and how now black mold is taking over homes and destroying them. Had a girlfriend and her family get very sick because of the black mold that got out of control. And she is such a neat freak... she was devestated. It got into everything... had to destroy all her clothing and furniture... and start fresh. Yeast is everywhere. It really helps us realise how insidius sin is.
