King Saul's army was hunting for David in the wilderness. David could have killed Saul but spared his life for the second time in 1Sa 26:

13 Then David went over to the other side and stood far off on the top of the hill, with a great space between them. 14 And David called [H7121 וַיִּקְרָ֨א way·yiq·rā] to the army, and to Abner the son of Ner, saying, “Will you not answer, Abner?” Then Abner answered, “Who are you who calls [H7121 קָרָ֥אתָ qā·rā·ṯā] to the king?”
This was the start of a pun using H7121 קָרָא qara.

David was the H7121 caller. He explained to Saul:

20b "The king of Israel has come out to seek a single flea like one who hunts a partridge in the mountains.”

Strong's 7124: A caller, partridge

A partridge weighs about half a kilo and makes bird calls. H7124-qore completed the pun started with H7121-qara. David H7121-called to Saul who was hunting for a partridge H7124-caller. David called to the king like an insignificant partridge and pleaded for his innocence.
