The original King James Version contained the apocrypha or deuterocanonicals. Why is there so much controversy between this bible and a Catholic Bible besides the apocrypha?
Besides the deuterocanonicals?......Why is there so much controversy between this bible and a Catholic Bible besides the apocrypha?
This just brings to mind a KJV only site who wouldn't alow any other version to be quoted. One Catholic always used the Douay-Rheims and they never objected.Have you been listening to a lot of "KJV only" speeches lately??...

Verse Search Results (The King James Version (Authorized))One of my big problems with the KJV is that the entire message of God has been changed. From the altering of "saved by faith and works" to "faith alone." This is one of the big differences between Catholics & Protestants.
Also somewhere the idea of Once Saved Always Saved was invented. Again, this differs from what the Catholic Church has taught for almost 2000 years.
I know that the Protestants are broken up into thousands of groups with no one leader and doctrine, but most of the groups have drifted in their core doctrines. This is shown in their stance on abortion, birth control, female leaders and homosexuality, which has changed over the decades. Again, the Catholic Church has kept the same faith teachings. Maybe it's just me, but I don't belive in doctrine by popular vote.

... so can someone quote from it for me this passage, which I will paste from the KJV?
Luke 1: 46-55
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord, And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour. For he hath regarded the low estate of his handmaiden: for, behold, from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed. For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name. And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation. He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts. He hath put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree. He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away. He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed for ever.
