We've had some problems now and then with mice/rats, I can't really tell the different as I don't look too long. They're probably mice cos rats are massive but I digress.
The problem is last night I was kinda woken up by the sound of a mouse rustling around in my room (not the first time) and it sent shivers up my spine and I couldn't really fall back asleep easy. Cut a long story short I put rat poison downstairs where I saw it again, or it was a second one...hopefully not.
Is this wrong? Am I killing an innocent creature? Will God be angry or dissapointed with me? I hear they breed quickly and they are very unhygienic. We also have my nephews and nieces that play with their toys at my mums (her Grandchildren) and I don't want them touching anything dirty or anything affecting their health? Any views people? Thanks for reading. God bless x,
Mike.

In this case, no, as they are considered vermin and carry disease. The only other answer is to buy a humane catcher, this is a little trap and does not hurt them. The only problem with the humane trap is that you still have to get rid of the creature somewhere.

Will God be angry or dissapointed with me?

I doubt it.

If you have real problems with just killing them, then I guess there is some traps that don't kill, but capture the rats and you can go and release them somewhere else where they do no harm.

They are pretty cute, so I can understand what you mean. But after all it is just a animal like all other animals, and I don't think any of them are more valuable then others just because they look cute.

Someone once told me you could sin against anything living, if in your heart you were doing wrong. I suppose that means you need to come to a decision about it then act according to that decision.

I felt it was okay to kill a bunny - they ate everything in my garden. I shot it with a pellet gun, then had to get one of my son's friends who was there to 'finish it off'. It was really awful for me (yeah, for the bunny too). Something about doing the killing yourself let's you know just how you really feel about it. Me - I felt I had no choice but to kill the bunny eating my garden, I don't take the choice lightely though.

While I do believe that God created everything, every creature, I tend to think certain ones may not be original.

There are many insects and animals that really are harmful to human beings. For example, think of mosquitoes that suck blood and carry deadly diseases. I don't think this is God's beautiful creation.

I believe that things got messed up after the fall, meaning original purposes became something different. Just like we no longer live forever. Adam and Eve could have lived forever without dying if they didn't sin. But because of the fall, they died. And because of the fall, some bad creatures appeared, probably from their original form creatures.

So, while I cherish the creation of God, including animals and flowers for us to enjoy, I don't feel bad about eliminating those harmful things to us. I can't imagine a cockroach being in heaven, you know.

Mouse or rat trap mate. A mouse is small about 3" long and a rat is twice the size with an extremely large tail.

If you poison them, then they might get outside and then a hawk or a scavenging bird will eat the dying or dead vermin and then the poison will kill them, and then another animal eats them and then they die. It become a vicious chain reaction.

So guillotine my dear friend, a good old-fashing mouse or rat trap. They are vermin and disease ridden.

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.
