John Spencer, actor who portrayed "Leo" on the West Wing, dies at 58

Just off the breaking news banner on CNN:

John Spencer, who played Leo McGarry on NBC's 'The West Wing,' died of a heart attack Friday, his publicist said. He was 58.

This hits me a bit, as the West Wing is one of my favourite TV shows, and I was actually watching it when I found out.

I watched the first three seasons of the 'West Wing', and Leo was always one of my favorite characters. It's so sad to hear that the actor is dead now.

I fell in love with John Spencer as Tommy Mullvaney in "LA Law."

He had just the right amounts of toughness and tenderness.

It was also a little upsetting to realize that he was the same age as my husband upon his death (the bio did say he had been an alcoholic for many years, so that might have led to his premature heart attack, but he had also been sober for at least the past ten...)

I'll miss seeing him on TV.

Me, I'm a HUGE West Wing fan, and Leo was amazing.
