This seems a rather odd forum for this thread. This forum is about the church and its organization, not eschatology. Perhaps the moderators might wish to move this where it will receive more views.

I like Corrie Ten Boom's take. "The whole thing is A-Pre-Posterous situation." Something like that. Having studied the issue, I came to the conclusion that God knows for sure and no one else does.

Donald Bloesch in his book The Last Things writes that: "Amillennialists as well as some postmillennialists adhere to the theory of progressive parallelism when dealing with the book of Revelation. This hermeneutic discerns an emerging pattern in which various chapters return to a common theme - God's incomparable gift of salvation in Jesus Christ - and then build upon this theme on the basis of further illumination from the Spirit of God. From this perspective, Revelation 20 does not chronologically follow Revelation 19 but constitutes a re-description of the unfolding eschatological panorama."

The thousand years is understood by some as not literal length of time (as MacArthur seems to understand it), but symbolic of power. Theologians who hold this view include Amillennialist: GC Berkouwer, and also Adrio Konig author of The Eclipse of Christ in Eschatology - were he writes: " 'A thousand years' symbolizes the absolute defeat, binding, and total subordination of Satan and his forces which are clearly taught by the rest of the New Testament. 'Thousand' does not refer to time at all; it demonstrates the completeness of Christ's victory over Satan."

I am just wondering though about when the book of Revelation speaks of Satan being "loosed for a little season" - and how that is understood in Amillennialism, or even Postmillennialism?

And what does the binding of Satan for one thousand years mean in both spiritual and practical theological terms?
