I know I've posted about Jim Carrey before, but this vid reveals a more thorough biography that makes his testimony even more profound. His expression of the Gospel and grace couldn't be more clear, imho. Enjoy and please say a prayer for his witness.

I'm still a fan of Bruce Almighty (2003) :)

I pray that Jim Carrey and other Hollywood folks renounce their worldliness, and turn to Jesus.

I have a question for you guys, something that I often ponder. Jim says in essence that Jesus was driven to the point of doubt when He exclaimed, "My God, My God, why hast Thou forsaken me?".

I don't think I agree on this one point. I think in His humanity He was expressing puzzlement at being forsaken, experencing the full wrath of God, but that He demonstrated to the world the purity of His faith by then committing His Spirit to the very Father Who was forsaking Him. Not one iota of doubt in God's goodness.

Not to mention the brilliance of pointing us all to Psalm 22 - which was all about Him.

Thoughts?

Thoughts? New Christian! Initial salvation is as easy as...

9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. - Romans 10

After that 50 years of study, experience, and research is a good thing. On executing heretics... Italian poet Camillo Renato protested: "Neither God nor his spirit have counselled such an action. Christ did not treat those who negated him that way." And French humanist Sébastien Chateillon wrote: "To kill a man is not to protect a doctrine, but it is to kill a man." Servetus himself had said: "I consider it a serious matter to kill men because they are in error on some question of scriptural interpretation, when we know that even the elect ones may be led astray into error."

People need time to learn and to grow...

Wasn't Servetus himself burned alive on the stake by the Reformers around John Calvin in Geneva just because he had a different Christology than those Reformers?

Thousands of Anabaptists were executed by the Reformers in the 16th century because they held dissenting views on theology or church authority.
