Does anyone else seem completely shocked by what is suggested in the lyrics of this 1950's rock and roll classic song, as recorded by Elvis Presley? It was written by songwriting team Lieber and Stoller (famous duo with a huge string of hit songs).
"Number 47 said to number 3,
You're the cutest jail-bird I ever did see,
I sure would be delighted with your company,
Come on and do the jailhouse rock with me."
That's one of the verses. It's mainly the first 3 lines in question. They seem to be referring to homosexuality between inmates.
How come more people aren't outraged? Or at least you never hear anyone talking about this song.
Here is the official FBI footage of the song.
