someone told me they are a Christian rock. band does anyone know?

Seeing as the word God is never mentioned in their "thank you" section, I'd say no.

thank you.but osmeone said to me when I was debating with them about Christian rock they were like "Oh yea!Evanescence is Christian!My Pastor lsitens to it!" and he said their CD is at Christian stores but I dunno.I need sum more info for this Pastor

They have said in an interview their definatley not a christian band an that there has been some kind of misunderstanding - bit ridiculous to me as they're on a christian record label?!

From what I have heard people assumed Tournaquet was a Christian song so they got put under the Christian label, but no they are not a Christian band. I believe one of the members is though.

Ugh, this stupid topic is never ending. They USE TO BE a Xian band when they first came out. They got a lot of support when they were underground by the Xian community. Their first album, Origin, was in fact their "Xian Album" but for Fallen, they wanted to tie in more with the secular community because they didn't want limitations. The fact that they were a Xian band before they got signed gave WindUp the idea they wanted to stay on the Xian market when in fact, they didn't. nothing wrong with that unless you are one of those people who assume that every Xian who chooses to be in the music industry has to be a Xian artist... in which case, I think you need a major wake up call. The truly funny thing is that a good portion of the songs on Fallen were also on Origin.

And for the person who says they didn't thank God, you are obviousely without a clue, so it's a good thing that I always carry a spare. Inside the cover on the cd, the first person Ben thanks is "Jesus - All the life left in me is you"...

And for all those people who want to whine about him saying the "f word", shall we casts stones at you too for when you say something you shouldn't say?

The (ex-) guitarist dude and the singer met at a Christian youth camp. There's obviously a Christian subtext in there. The lyrics will reveal that. I'd suggest some kind of disillusionment at the Church. Maybe that's why the guitarist left...

their music talks about christian things, but i wouldnt call them a christian band at that. maybe they need direction - as the song tourniquet says.

Ouch....Anyways, I think that Amy Lee is one of the most beautiful and loveliest singers today. But man you didn't have to throw in the ovary comment.

You seem to like calling the work of other people trash. I wonder if they were to be revealed as a Christian band if you would use the same 'trash' comment but ANYWAY....that pastor is free to listen to whatever he wants and you have no say in it either so shouting to the skies that "oh heyz everyone Evanescence is not a christian band so that means there of teh devil1111!" rant isn't going to change his view or anyone else's unless they're weak-minded and un-opinionated.

...well it is wrong for the Christian to listen to secular music.since it says in a Psalms...something that we are to sing praises to God.not what secular bands are.and I would have shut them off if they were Christian too.because "Christian" bands are nothign but rock with the word Christian in front of it their is nothing really Christian about it :amen:

No Evanesance is not a Christian band nor are they proclamied Christians. But that doesnt make their music bad. I bet you are wearing clothes are driving a car made by non Christians.

and for secular music it says in COlossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom;teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs,singing with grace in yuor hearts to the Lord

it says in the bold part that are song needs to praise God.Now does a secular song do that?
