“But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:37-39 NASB’95)

I live in the USA. My nation is presently undergoing an enormous transition in government, with daily changes being made to the way our government is run. Some of these changes may be for our good, or they may not be for our good. I personally believe that D Trump is God’s instrument of judgment on my nation, but not him only, and because America, as a nation, and the church in America, at large, have gone so far away from God and his design and purpose for the lives of those who believe in Christ as their Savior.

Tomorrow, by midnight (EST in America), our government heads are supposed to decide on the budget for running this nation, but if they cannot agree, from what I understand, that will result in a government shutdown. I am not well versed in what that means, and evidently this has happened before, for a short period of time. But in reality, with the way things are going and how crazy so much of this seems, anything is possible, I believe. So, to a certain degree, I have to anticipate and to prepare for the worst.

And I admit that there is a lot about government and taxes and economics and budgets and global relationships that I do not understand. But what I do understand is that we are living in very troubled times, and that my nation right now does not appear to be united or stable, and it seems ripe for an explosion of some sort to shake the very foundation of what we have always known as America. I personally believe we are very close to the rule of the beast and the time of great tribulation to come upon the earth.

We live in a time period when there is so much fakery, so many people in disguise, and so many liars and deceivers and manipulators manipulating people’s minds and emotions. There is so much angst and the deliberate act of pitting people groups, one against the other, in order to stir up hatred and violence, for they want us hating and fighting each other. They want us divided, because then they can come to the “rescue” with their preplanned solution for how to solve our “problems,” which largely they created.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is massively being altered to appeal to human flesh and to cater to the ungodly and the people of the world. For they want to attract the world and the ungodly into their gatherings in order to grow their numbers. But so many of these modern day institutional market-driven “churches” (businesses) are marketing the church and God/Christ and his gospel to the world, but in a way to attract the world, and so many of them are teaching lies instead of the truth. And many are addicted to sin.

For it appears that the majority are not teaching the gospel as taught by Jesus and by his New Testament apostles, in context, but they are teaching an altered gospel taken mostly from Scriptures taught outside their original context, and made to say what they do not say if taught in their appropriate context. And so they are teaching a “feel good” gospel which requires of their “believers” only that they acknowledge faith in Jesus Christ, and then they are promised forgiveness of all sins and heaven as their eternal destiny.

But Jesus taught that if anyone would come after him that he must deny self, take up his cross daily (die daily to sin) and follow (obey) him. For if we hold on to our lives of living in sin and for self, we will lose them for eternity. But if we deny self, die to sin, in practice, by the Spirit, and we now walk (in conduct) in obedience to our Lord and to his commands, in holy living, then we have forgiveness of sins and eternal life with God, but provided that we stay the course and we continue in Christ until the very end.

[Matt 7:13-14,21-23; Matt 24:9-14; Lu 9:23-26; Jn 6:44; Jn 8:31-32; Jn 15:1-12; Rom 2:6-8; Rom 6:1-23; Rom 8:24; Rom 11:17-24; Rom 13:11; 1 Co 1:18; 1 Co 15:1-2; Gal 5:16-24; Gal 6:7-8; Eph 5:3-6; Col 1:21-23; 2 Tim 1:8-9; 2 Tim 2:10-13; Heb 9:28; Heb 3:6,14-15; 1 Pet 1:5,9; 2 Pet 1:5-11; 2 Pet 2:20-22; 1 Jn 1:5-10; 1 Jn 2:3-6,15-17,24-25; 1 Jn 3:4-10]

But, as followers of Jesus Christ, who are dying to sin daily, by the Spirit, and who are walking (in conduct) in obedience to our Lord, in practice, and who are sharing the truth of the gospel, and not the lies, many of us are being opposed and/or persecuted and/or rejected and ignored and cast aside as unnecessary and as unwanted by those who reject the truth and who are following after the lies, instead. And as matters get much worse, we are in danger of more severe persecution, and even death for our walks of faith.

And as the people of America, and the people of the world, if we are living in the times I believe we are living in, we are in for a rough ride ahead when the world all comes together as one under the rule of “the beast,” which is a time known as “the tribulation,” the second half of which is “the great tribulation,” as I understand it. I do not believe in a pre-tribulation rapture of the church, as a whole, and if we read the book of Revelation we will see that the saints of God will be on the earth during this time, and will be killed.

But we do not have to give way to fear, and we should never yield our devotion over to “the beast” or to any human entity which may require that we compromise our faith and convictions in order to unite with the world as one. For, by faith in Jesus Christ, we can live as conquerors over any fears or over any enemies, in that we do not let them conquer us but that we remain true to the Lord, even if it means persecution and death. So don’t let any of this “take you out.” Stay true to the Lord, even to the death. Glory to God!

For Our Nation

Bombs are bursting. Night is falling.
Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.
Trust Him with your life today.
Make Him your Lord and your Savior.
Turn from your sin. Follow Jesus.
He will forgive you of your sin;
Cleanse your heart, made new within.

Men betraying: Our trust fraying.
On our knees to God we’re praying,
Seeking God to give us answers
That are only found in Him.
God is sovereign over all things.
Nothing from His mind escaping.
He has all things under His command,
And will work all for good.

Jesus Christ is gently calling
You to follow Him in all ways.

Men deceiving: We’re believing
In our Lord, and interceding
For our nation and its people
To obey their God today.
He is our hope for our future.
For our wounds He offers suture.
He is all we need for this life.
Trust Him with your life today.
