I recently gave up my dreams for God.

I have decided that i will not go in on my creator dreams, this world is too sinful to make any holy business, so i have decided to drop them all for now and focus on being what God wants me to be instead, and i know that God will be graceful enough to reward for my faith and acts of light.
I came to this conclusion after reading an article (Sent to me by a racist) about how video games are satanic.
So i decided to ditch my ideas and concepts for games, cartoons, comics, etc. I always had a feeling that God tried to steer me away from them and that he wants me to be a warrior instead of an entertainer. But who knows, maybe he wants both and the world is just too sinful with all the lust, pride, etc going on. Seriously, too much sexualization going on in this world.
Thoughts on this decision? Should i continue to ditch my dream of entertainment to focus on God's will for being a warrior?

If you have creative talents, then rather than just giving up on dreams, could you refocus those aspirations to do something positive in God's great world? Something doesn't have to be overtly religious to have a positive impact on others. I'm not trying to steer you away from religious elements, but rather pointing out sometimes one can find a position between the extreme ends of a spectrum between sexualized video game art vs religious art that might not sell as well.

I thank you so much for the reply, and also i realize that i have worded myself wrong leading to misconstruing. I am sorry about that, i have trouble properly articulating myself.
Allow me to try to be more clear and specific.
My work is in no way sexual, i am against that stuff. (With one exception but i digress)
I try to make my work as holy as i can, i just do not like how the world we live in lusts after and perverts anything that is even the most unsexual there is and i do not want my creations to be corrupt.
Not to mention how the other day i read an article on how demons can corrupt people through video games.
But i get what you're saying and i agree with your message so i thank you for it and i will think about your kind words and hopefully use them for improvement of myself and my creative visions.

I think we should not be legalists, making videogames imo is not sinful, it could be a job like others, a videogame can be like a work of art or a poem. And also could be used to send a nice message.

Imo, if you have talent for that, don't let legalism ruin it. What is sinful about making videogames anyway?
God wants us to enjoy life, i quit watching porn, i was scared for my salvation with that, but games? the Holy spirit in me doesn't bat an eye when i play. It can be a passion or hobby like others.

Imagine the impact good christian movies and games would have, sadly a lot of them are bad.

But if are sure God is telling you something is better to listen, it may be for a reason

Oh no, i am not doing this because of him, i am dong this because i just so happen to agree with the article he sent.

And when i mean warrior, i mean warrior for the tribulation. I know this might sound silly but i really do believe that the anti christ is near and God needs warriors to help fight against his army and protect as many good souls as possible.

As far as video game design goes I have no idea what kind of talent you have, but you certainly don't seem to have a talent for relating to people on a personal level. Perhaps it could develop, I don't know, but the best course to follow is always the one that God gave you a talent for, or a passion for. Don't be Jonah.

At worst you'll find out that God isn't trying to teach them something, He's trying to teach you something. Warriors do need training you know.

No, i just think that God wants something different from me. But i admit i am conflicted, i have been having a kind of crisis over who i am as a person for years now.

From the description of your encounter on Discord it just sounded as if you had a problem interacting with people who were being overly aggressive. I always try to remember to treat people as if I'm in their home. I try to be respectful no matter where we are, or what their lifestyle is. I'm not there to criticize them, I'm there to form a connection with them and that's hard to do if I come off as being superior to them in some way.

Take it from someone who's been in some pretty sketchy places, be respectful of them, and they'll most likely be respectful of you. But get judgey and be prepared for them to respond in kind.

Personally I feel that it's a common trick of religious people to demonise things that people enjoy and guilt tripping people into giving those things up. If you can get people to give up what drives them at their core, you can get them to do anything you want. For some people, that is their hobbies. For others, it's their sexuality (and I'm not just talking about LGBT+ people, but also talking people into staying celibate and refraining from masturbation). For others still, it's their life long career dream.

I can easily see why some people would see some games as demonic. There is a lot of violence, sex and even gambling mechanics in modern games. But there are plenty of games that offer nothing of the sort. Lumping everything together and claiming that even simple reaction games like brick breaker are a demonic vessle just smacks of paranoia to me.

I see your point. Maybe i should balence it out more while still improving myself and working for God's light.

I think that you definetely should talk with some people you trust before making any life-altering decisions. Perhaps a pastor or a family member. There is also a sub-forum on this site that is about games, including video games.
