• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hello. I suffer from voraphilia, and I need some advice regarding how to corresponds with my faith. I really don't like it, and I only found out it was a sin about a year ago. I used to look up pictures online (not p*rn.) and touch. I was young and had NO IDEA what I was doing. I've had voraphilia ever since I was in my single fidgets. Now though, I have asked for forgiveness from Jesus and God, and being the GRACIOUSE fathers they are they forgave me. But I need some advice. Vore often comes up in movies or books, and I was wondering if I simply went to another room or closed my eyes, would it be ok if I watched the parts without vore? Or would it still account for sin? Also, should I boycott things that often lead up to vore, (ex. Someone losing control of themselves and turning into a giant monster) or is it ok as long as I'm not mastabating to it? Thanks again.

Okay to me when the part of vore comes up or it just about to,leave the room immediately or close your eyes and mute the television.I think so it isn't a sin to watch the parts without any vore I think so it would be best to boycott the things that lead up to vore because you can fall into temptation again.hopefully this can help you

I am in the EXACT same boat as you. I accidentally discovered that I had this paraphilia when I was a very young child, and it has plagued me for years.

Honestly, I do not think that having a paraphilia is a sin. It is something you can't control. Now, what you do with it is different. In my religion, masturbation is a sin. I have been struggling and working hard to fight against the temptation as hard as I can.

When the temptation arises, I try to turn to other things. Getting out of a private place works wonders, as obviously you won't do anything you'll regret if you're with somebody else. Try not to entertain the thoughts, which I know can be insanely difficult. Push it out of your brain and do something that is more stimulating, like watching something else, turning up some loud music, or engaging in exercise.

I feel pain for you. I hate this aspect of me so much, nor do I even want it, and I am sure you feel the same. I am here for you if you need it. I think what a lot of people need is support. It's easy to feel like you are the only person on Earth that has something like this, but know that you are definitely not alone. And that God and Jesus still love you and will love you no matter what.
