I got SHOT in my dream

I had a dream I got shot in the upper left side of my chest. I thought it was over. I was gonna lay in the Basement and just die but then decided to say my goodbyes. Went upstairs and jus remember seeing someone maybe my older sister and I said bye then I seen My older brother also and I said bye to him and he said it’s not over and I jus remember not actually dying. This is the first time I’ve ever had a dream like this, get physically hurt this bad.

Maybe you have a feeling of loss in your life, of becoming separated or distant from loved ones?

I find dreams almost always have to do with the subconscious mind using symbols to try to process feelings that are unresolved or unacknowledged. It can be good to pay attention to your dreams and see what they are saying about yourself, it's a good way to get self-insight.

I've never had a dream that is a premonition at all. Not saying it couldn't happen but I find the idea unlikely in this case.

I've had those before. That and the dream like in your other thread, but being shot, maybe only once...pretty intense. At least for me, they always seem yo go along with going to bed just after an exiting move or video game. When I think back was the dream anything at all like what I was doing prior to bed the answer is usually and obvious yes.

If that wasn't the case with you, that is as far as my understanding of dreams go except to say, though God can speak to us in dreams, at least it happened in the bible, I think that is very rare. IMO most if not all dreams mean little or nothing and tend to go along with what was on our minds at bedtime, that being, what I mentioned or something intense in our lives.

Others will come along with interpretations, they usually do anyway.

Probably some internal conflict, maybe feeling a bit victimized or cornered it. Most dreams are dealing with subconscious stuff and trying to reason it out.

Jadah, from this and at least one other thread I saw just now it seems that you often have dreams that torment you for a time after you awaken. I know this isn't exactly scientific or helpful advice, but, try not to put so much stock in them, okay? As others have suggested, dreams are just from one's subconscious and these violent and scary ones may only be happening because you think about them so much or are afraid of them happening to you in real life. I actually had a dream once about your age where I suffered a mortal wound and somehow knew that I only had so much time before I would die from it, and after awakening in fright it tormented me for a while, like I was putting too much significance into it and it might actually be a warning from God Himself that I would die or something soon. I was a new believer then, and did not know any better. I just tried to forget about it, and the fears of something bad happening to me IRL because of the dream being some divine sign somehow went away. I mean, I guess my advice isn't really of much better quality than telling a depressed person to just "snap out of it and smile, be happy", but, just wanted to try to encourage you. Your bad dreams like this may in fact become scarce over time if you just try to avoid placing significance on them like you are doing something wrong IRL and must be punished severely for it with death or abandonment.

I literally just broke up with my ex boyfriend a month and I think you might be right. Maybe it means it really hurt me or I’m in pain or something because he was my first love after all.

I’ve died in my dream probably about 50 times. Shot, stabbed, fell off buildings, and suffocated. It’s been a long time since it’s happened. On the other side of dreams, the fun side, I used to be able to fly in dreams a lot. That also has not happened in a long time. I really miss the flying, but I don’t terribly miss getting stabbed to death haha
