Was Noah 599 or 600 years old when he entered the ark?

Why do I ask this?
1. Scripture says that Noah lived to be 950 years.
2. It also says that he lived 350 years after the flood.
3. The book of Jasher puts the birthday to be the beginning of the year... at the revolution of the year.
4. It says that they entered the ark in the 2nd month, after his birthday.
5. It says that Noah was 600 years old when the flood was upon the earth.
6. Noah came out of the ark on his 601st year.
So how old was he when he entered the ark, 599 or 600?

Well, the bible says:

“Noah [was] six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.” (Ge 7:6 NKJV)

The book of Jasher, although mentioned in the bible, is not part of God's word.

I don't suppose it makes a lot of difference whether Noah was 599 or 600 when he entered the ark, but the bible says that he was 600 when the floodwaters were on the earth.

Gen 8:13 KJV And it came to pass in the six hundredth and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth: and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

Here the 1st day of the 1st month is now the 601st year. When Noah entered the ark on the 17th day of the 2nd month (almost certainly after noah's birthday) , it says it was the 600th year. Imo, this verifies that Noah was indeed born on the 1st day of the year. Where the scripture tells us that Noah was 600 years old [when the flood was on the earth] is actually before the flood had come. So it is speaking in somewhat of a future event. And Noah was in the ark DURING the flood for just over a year. The 601st year began during that time.

The bible reckons time different than what we are accustomed to. E.g., in Jeremiah 52 we see regnal year of Nebuchadnezzar change from the 18th year in the 4th month TO the 19th year in the 10th day of the 5th month. This correlates with the record of the Babylonian chronicle that states that his father, Nabopolasser, died in the 5th month. I.e., that is the 18th anniversary of his father's death, and by that we know that Nebu began his reign 18 years prior in 604 BC.

A series of similar examples is found in the books of Ezra and Nehemiah and throughout the books of the Kings and Chronicles. To be consistent, when the bible says that Noah lived after the flood 350 years, would have to mean that Noah was 600 (and not 601) years old when the flood ended. With that being said I would conclude that Noah was 599 years old when he entered the ark.
