The camel does not have hooves. Hooves are for walking on hard ground, the sand of the desert is much more manageable with padded feet. The camel posesses feet with thick pads.

As explained above, camels have pads, divided pads to be sure but pads all the same. Hooves must be like a cow's hooves. I believe that deer, elk, maybe even moose are also clean meat. But camel is definitely unclean.
