Come On! Feel The Illinoise! is what I would recommend first if you are going to listen to some Sufjan. Great album...I haven't actually heard much of his stuff but I have a feeling I'll fancy his music - going on what I know of his influences etc.

If you like his stuff, check out Iron & Wine. Lovely stuff.
I seen both of them live before (Damien Rice plays over here alot cos hes irish) and both were fantastic live.
If Sigur Rós are ever playing near you, get tickets. You wont be dissapointed =)
If you are looking for individual songs to listen to, the ones that got me hooked on listening are:I haven't actually heard much of his stuff but I have a feeling I'll fancy his music - going on what I know of his influences etc.

Seven Swans is really good. To Be Alone With You is one of my faves off that one.Oh man - I managed to get my hands on "Seven Swans". Woah!! The title track and "The Transfiguration" are absolutely amazing!!!! The second halves are just incredible.
