How do you enter into the presence of God?

How can one enter into the presence of God, into that secret place where one is 110% conscious of Him at that moment? I really want to dwell in the presence of the Lord always, but I'm not really sure how...I have this hunger and thirst for God, I'm finding that I can't live without Him! He consumes my thoughts and I just want to please Him...I'm falling in love with Him. I just want more and more of Him! Please how can I dwell in His presence forever?

I LOVE these questions! I still have my own questions regarding Hosting His Presence. Being conscious of the Lord and His Presence is a hard thing to do. It's not easy at first! ha! I think that when we position ourselves to surrender to Him (being hungry/thirsty/desperate for more of Him) and set our affection towards Him...being aware of His Presence comes more clearly. When we just set our affection towards Him, His Presence will become so real to us! I've done this, I've literally said, "Lord, I'm just aware of Your Presence right now. I'm aware of Your Presence that's on me. I'm aware of the Angels around me. Thank You for Your Presence. I honor Your Presence." when I do that it's like BAM, there's the Presence! HA!

I did that tonight before I walked into Books a Million to go hangout with friends and Holy Spirit totally showed up in the store and did some really awesome things. Prophetic words to people and just the love of Jesus pouring out onto others. Such a good time!

The Lord is so happy with your passion for Him. Your passion on contagious to those around you. More, Lord!


Living in a state of awareness is not an easy task at first, it has it's struggles and difficulties. Like, "Oh man, I just can't feel His Presence today!" or "Oh crap, what the heck is going on with me? Am I doing this whole thing right?" I mean those will come into play at first because we need to train ourselves how to become aware of His Presence.

What we're aware of, will be the very thing we live out of. If I'm aware of the Presence, then I'll operate (in my daily life) responding according to that awareness of His Presence. You don't have to get all bugged eyed when you're in public places about it and be all wierd about being in His Presence out in public. He just loves it when we just take time and set our affections towards Him.

We know there's no one set way as already shown with the responses.

You know in the OT it talks about entering into His gates with praise. Thanksgiving and praise can lead us to a point of getting our minds off ourselves and others and focusing on Yahweh. Not that it's the only place we're to commune with Him but Scripture refers to a prayer closet (Matt 6:6). lt usually works best to have scheduled, uninterrupted time with Him. Hallow His name. I've found a list of His titles, names, and attributes and think about a few of those at a time and/or read Scripture such as Psa 145 and/or play some music that's just about Him and/or sing a new song (you can change the lyrics of a song and it will be a song that's never been sung to Him before) to an audience of One. I Thess 5:17; Matt 6:6; John 4:24; Psa 69:30; 71:23; and 100:4.

Personally I find I am most united with Christ when I:

- take the Sacrament of Eucharist (bread & wine),
- am in Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
- attend Mass
- am in quiet Prayer and contemplation


I definitely feel his presence there in all these cases, it is a quiet rush of wind that envelops me, sometimes I almost swoon.

When I am surrounded by noise and chatter, it is definitely more difficult to filter and discern his presence.

Well when I first became born again I could see God in everything. Then the trials started. Started to get bad dreams about the end times and I would feel the presence of lord around me saying your okay. I still hone in on it I just have to watch what I do sinful wise because that can disturbed the connection. I feel God right now. Just knowing He's here on this litl marble of a planet is enough for me to get by.

Most the time when I enter the presence og Gof is when I feel darkness and I pray and read scripture. Because the enemy will try to terrifie you and God is there as a light to help. You'll know when you feel Him Trust me.

Its very simple to enter into the Presence of God. God desires that we come unto him like a child. Entering into the presence of God has something to do with our own heart and what our own thoughts are. I would say that you should not look for there to always be a physical manifestation from God. God promises to be there no matter what. God is always with you inside you. And The Holy Spirit is always with you. It starts with prayer. You can praise God and He will be their because the Bible says that He inhabits the praises of His people. And when two or more are gathered in His name He is also there! Being in God's presence personally and one on one is different for everyone. Many people say its comming to God in prayer and praying till you feel a release then wait on God in Silence. Others simply worship and praise Him and are satisfied with His presence then. The deeper you go with God depends on you. If you love God and want to know Him more and more, read His Word! Get alone with God and talk to Him like a real person. Sometimes just saying "I welcome you Holy Spirit" or asking Jesus to speak to you. Surrender yourself to God and ask Him to reveal anything in your heart that is keeping your from experiencing all of Him that you can. Some people even have Daily communion with God, that most churches have once or twice a year! Communion with God can be a powerful thing. Remembering Jesus' Sacrifice and thanking Him for His Shed blood and for making a way for us to come to Him. God knows your heart! He will honor your sincerity and as you Draw Nigh to Him He will Draw Nigh to you!!! And know that you Can practice God's presence all throughout the day as well! Just by calling His name and thanking Him for the little things that happen. Walking in love is one of the ways to please God. God is where love is because God IS LOVE! God bless!
