What your doing is right.

When you pray to Jesus, if you wish, you could say, "in your name, amen."

You don't need to get caught up about it, what matters is that you speak from the heart.

Here is what the bible says:

Ephesians 5:20
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We do this because we know that Jesus is the mediator between man and God, it's on account of what he has done that we have access to the Father.

1 Timothy 2:5
For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus

May God bless you, your brother in him.

Prayer is about talking to your closest friend and helper, I personally like to say

"In the mighty name of Jesus! Amen!" I don't generally pray to Jesus but rather to the father in Jesus name. I do talk to Jesus though and tell him how I feel and I do that, I just tell him how I feel.

Prayer is not about using the correct words, as if the words have power. That's like a lucky rabbits foot and like Pagan rituals, your heart and your faith are what make prayer powerful, not the correct words in the correct order.

Amen, in Jesus name, are not lucky rabbits feet of prayer, those are not words that summon power from beyond like an sorcerers incantation, prayer is not like casting a spell by reciting the correct sounds.

Your faith in Jesus is what makes prayer powerful.

The holyspirit will teach you to pray if you seek him.

In Orthodox Christianity, we have a lot of prayers which we use everyday. Here are a few examples of how our prayers end.

Beginning of the Trisagion prayers: "In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen."
Ending: "...Lord Jesus Christ our God, have mercy on us and save us. Amen."

Ending of the Troparia to the Holy Trinity: "Do thou now enlighten the eyes of my understanding, open my mouth to receive thy words, teach me thy commandments, help me to do thy will, confessing thee from my heart, singing and praising thine All-holy Name: of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen."

An ending to another morning prayer (The Prayer of St. Basil): "...open our mouths and fill them with thy praise, that we may unceasingly sing and confess thee, who art God glorified in all and by all, the eternal Father, the Only-Begotten Son, and the all-holy and good and life-giving Spirit: now and ever, and unto ages of ages. Amen."

Wow, this is interesting. It never occured to me to pray to Jesus. I always pray to God (in Jesus' name).

That's the way we do it in the Southern Baptist church. We take our Jewish roots seriously. That means only praying to the Father.

I thought every Christian prayed to the Father. Why would we ever pray to Jesus? That would be like praying to the Holy Spirit. Why would we do that?

It is meet and right to worship the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit; the Trinity one in essence and undivided.

Another prayer: 'The Father is my hope, the Son is my refuge, the Holy Spirit is my protector. All- Holy Trinity, Glory to Thee!'

Just a question to all non-Orthodox and non-Roman Catholics out there: Do you all say the following at the end of the Lord's Prayer? 'For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory- of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.'
