MANY go the WIDE way that leads to destruction….to their mortal destruction. They are/were the vessels of God’s wrath fitted for destruction. He is the potter and we are all the clay but they were fitted for destruction as they mortally perished from this earth.
They are the believers of Christ who belong to the “Esau” group….the “house of Esau”… that have experienced God’s wrath and are destroyed. Jacob He loved …but Esau He hated.
We have witnessed this as MANY have mortally perished away to the grave under His wrath without inheriting their birthright: an age-lasting life in their mortal bodies.
Mat 7:13-14 KJV
(13) Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
(14) Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Why? God has and is showing us…the vessels of His mercy….the “house of Jacob”… His wrath and is making His power known to us (as they were mortally destroyed). This has been going on for a long time as He bears with “great patience” those vessels of wrath….
Romans 9:22
if God, willing to show wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the vessels of his wrath—prepared for destruction?
… to make known to us …the vessels of His mercy…the riches of His glory. We have seen His wrath and His power upon a large group of Christians (who have all mortally perished without receiving an age-lasting life). We must understand and change our minds (repent). We must be “born again”….as Jacob was the last one born. We the vessels of His mercy come out from under His wrath....and inherit an age-lasting life. We are prepared for glory and not mortal destruction.
23: He did this to make the riches of his glory known to the vessels of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory
We are all turned over to destruction so that He may show us His mercy.
Psa 90:3-4 KJV
(3) Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.
(4) For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.
We need to repent…change our minds from the mind of Esau to Jacob. We need to be born again. He will have mercy on “Jacob”…on those who are of the “house of Jacob”. He does not have mercy upon those who are of the “house of Esau” whose inheritance He has devastated.
Isa 14:1-2 KJV
(1) For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.
Jesus reigns over the “house of Jacob”.
Luk 1:31-33 KJV
(31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.
(32) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:
(33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.
“Jacob” means “supplanter”. A supplanter takes over or takes the place of someone else (Esau). Jacob inherited the birthright and the blessings. We also shall inherit the birthright…the birthright of an age-lasting life that the vessels of His wrath did not because they mortally perished from this earth through the fire of His wrath that destroyed them. Our God is a consuming fire.

He is the potter and we are the clay. The vessels of His wrath are born that way. When Esau was born, he came out “red all over like a hairy garment”. Genesis 25:25 .
These details symbolize that the whole Esau group of the believers of Christ are the vessels of wrath fitted for destruction of their mortal bodies.
Esau came out already “red” which is symbolic of God’s WRATH already upon the vessels fitted for it. Red = wrath. “all over”= the whole group destined for His wrath and destruction.
“Hairy” = Hebrew word: śê‛âr - in the sense of dishevelling; hair (as if tossed or bristling): - hair (-y), X rough.
Hebrew word “ śê‛âr” is from “śâ‛ar”- A rpim root; to storm; by implication to shiver, that is, fear: - be (horribly) afraid, fear, hurl as a storm, be tempestuous, come like (take away as with) a whirlwind.
They are subjects of God’s whirlwind anger/wrath.
“garment” = 'addereth’ -Feminine of H117; something ample (as a large vine, a wide dress); also the same as H145: - garment, glory, goodly, mantle, robe.
Garment = “MANY…LARGE”...as in a LARGE group.
In other words, they of Esau are the MANY who are God’s formed vessels that were and are the subjects of His “storm” or fury that show forth His wrath and power to those who understand. Many have gone the wide road that leads to their mortal destruction under the wrath of God.

(24) And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.
(25) And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau
Those believers of Christ who were/are of Esau are the vessels of dishonor. Their mortal bodies are sown in dishonor….but they will be raised in honor AT THE LAST DAY. The first (Esau) shall be the last (in the resurrection at the last day). The first shall be last.
They are the MANY vessels of His wrath (red with wrath) fitted to destruction. That is the way they were born. We have all been born vessels of His wrath so that He might show us the riches of His mercy…to become vessels of His mercy.
We are of the "same lump" as we are all under His wrath. The vessels of dishonor perish under His wrath as they were fitted for destruction. But we who are under His wrath also are shown mercy....and we enter out from under His wrath and into His rest....and into His glory.
We must hear the truth of the gospel and be “born again” and not give away our birthright when we hear the truth of the gospel.
Rom 9:20-23 KJV
(20) Nay but, O man, who art thou that repliest against God? Shall the thing formed say to him that formed it, Why hast thou made me thus?
(21) Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?
(22) What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction:
(23) And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory,
Those Christ believers who are of the “Esau” mind only believe that they are going to mortally die.
This is what Esau literally says in Genesis25:32. “Lo, I AM GOING TO DIE”.
Those of the Esau mind think that they are going to mortally perish in their estimation and not continue to live…..and they have been dying under the wrath of God that is upon them.

“what is this birthright to me?”
That is what the Esau mind thinks/understands of an age-lasting life (the birthright of the believers of Christ) …..as he doesn’t even know what it is: (Hebrew: mâh= “what, how, when?”) what/how/when is this to me?.
And then the Esau mind will swear it when faced with the truth of the gospel (the idea of the birthright).
In his wrath (preferring the “red”), he will give up his own birthright because in his own mind he thinks that we are all only going to mortally die. There is no birthright to be had….what is it to me?
