I welcome all of you to this thread!

I've recently picked up on Gregory Dickow's teaching on TV and the Internet. I think he has some excellent teachings. His Church is located just outside of Chicago. He offers wonderful free on-line down loads of his Church services and a number of wonderful teaching essays he has written.

I will begin posting some of his teachings here for review and discussion. The first essay is entitled, "Relationships."

Relationships by Gregory Dickow

Did you know the devil is better at friendships and relationships than most Christians?

Do you remember when Jesus talked about a demon leaving a man? He said that when the devil leaves, he roams the earth to find some friends and then brings 7 demons worse (stronger) than him to occupy that man again.

Isn’t that amazing? The devil will roam the earth to find 7 strong friends to overcome a situation, but Christians will hardly roam a street block to find strong relationships to help them overcome their situations!

It’s time we rise up, saints. The devil wants to divide us, so he can conquer us. He stops at no length to destroy our relationships with God., with our spouses, with our kids, with our pastors or churches.

The most meaningful relationships in our lives are often the hardest ones to maintain, but if we learn to do so, we will tap into a power rarely seen in this earth, Jesus put it this way: “ if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven” (Matthew 18:19).

Notice, the Father loves our agreement so much that He’ll give us anything for it – that’s powerful!

The purpose of marriage or any Godly relationship is to produce power. When two people are in agreement about what they believe for, nothing will be impossible for them.

The Christian life is often a lonely life. We see betrayals and competitions, people feeling used or disposed of for someone else’s gain – and it doesn’t happen only in the world! It’s in the church, and it hasn’t crept in – it has stormed in, designed by the devil to keep us powerless.

Look at what God said in Genesis 11:6 when the people were of one mind and heart: “…nothing that they propose to do will be withheld from them.” That’s the power of relationships, or better said, that’s the power that God wants in our relationships.

Not only do I want to show you how to walk in this kind of power, but I want to offer myself to you – join myself with you in producing that sort of power – it’s called a covenant relationship. It’s not just me sending you tapes, and you sending a monthly gift. It’s us joining together to release God’s unlimited power and blessing in every area of our lives.

But first, let me show you what it takes to have power-filled relationships in your life.

1. First of all, we must understand the purpose of the relationship.

As with anything, when the purpose of a thing is not understood, that’s when you will abuse that thing. (An example of this is money. People abuse money when they don’t understand its purpose.) I have found that the purpose of a relationship is to create a power or a strength that was not there before.

As I mentioned earlier, Jesus said if two shall agree, they can ask anything, and it shall be done for them. So the purpose of a relationship is to create an agreement that releases power in our lives – the power to receive anything!

Can you see why the devil works so hard at destroying or damaging your relationships?

Why does he divide people through offense, divorce, jealousy, strife, bitterness, and so many other forces? Because he wants to keep them from walking in the agreement that produces the supernatural power we’re talking about.

2. We must get rid of all strife and unforgiveness in our lives.

When we are offended at somebody, we prevent the flow of power that comes from our agreement. We also open the door to a root of bitterness in our heart, which hinders our ability to hear from God and again, prevents God’s power from flowing in our lives. In Mark 11:25, Jesus said, “…whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”

Forgiveness is one of the most important ingredients in relationships. People fall short; people hurt us; people mistreat us – we must forgive them.

3. Lower your expectations of people and raise your expectation of God.

One of the main reasons we have problems in our relationships is that we put too much dependence on people coming through for us or providing something for us. If you allow that to happen, then it puts too much power in other people’s hands – they can then control your emotions, your happiness, and your decisions with that power. If someone disappoints you or lets you down, it can hurt really badly – but if you put your trust in God coming through for you, rather than people, you can eliminate the disappointment and hurt.

We have it backwards. We believe too much of what people say and not enough of what God says. Change that, and you will find yourself freer and happier than you have been in years.

4. Understand the secrets to effective communication.

Follow this process:

A. In order to have a powerful relationship, you must have clear and effective communication.

B. In order to have great communication, you must have understanding. One of the biggest problems in our relationships is feeling misunderstood. You want someone to understand you, understand where you are coming from and not judge your motives or intentions, right?

C. Well, in order to be understood, the other party needs to listen. If they aren’t listening, they’ll never understand you. If they’re already thinking about what they’re going to say while you are talking, they will not understand you.

I want to encourage you – if you need a harvest of someone listening to you, sow the seed by becoming a listener. The most successful parents, teachers, and salesmen are those who learned to listen. This is our seed – listening. Our harvest will be that others listen to us; they will understand us; we will build a great relationship.

D. Now, you will not listen to someone you don’t respect – so the next key here is respect. How do you gain or give respect? Very simple.

You must trust. This is very hard when you have been lied to or lied about. But if you are to have the building block of respect, it must be built on trust. Broken trust produces broken relationships, and broken trust in the result of broken promises.

E. Therefore, the final ingredient, which in essence is the first ingredient, is integrity. To have great relationships there must be truth in that relationship. Broken relationships, broken marriages, and broken people are the result of broken promises.

So let’s put it together:

When a person has integrity (keeps their word), you can trust them.

When you trust them, you can respect them.

When you respect them, you will listen to them.

When you listen, you will understand them.

When you understand them, you will have great communication.

And when you have great communication, you can come into agreement with them.

When you come into agreement with them, you can ask for anything, and it will be done for you (Matthew 18:19).

Now I want to come into agreement with you.

Whatever you are struggling with, whatever you are dealing with today, I want to agree with you. In order to do so, I need you to communicate with me. Send me your prayer requests so I can come into agreement with you, and together, we can rejoice in your miracle.

RIGHTEOUSNESS: THE SOLUTION TO EVERYTHING by Gregory Dickow

Righteousness is the answer to everything!

What was the first thing God said to Jesus in an audible voice. In Mark 1:11 He said, " "You are My Beloved, Son. In You I am well pleased." Jesus didn't do anything until he first understood this. If Jesus had to know he was in right standing with God without even doing anything yet, then we need to know this.

Let's break down some words so we can understand them.

Righteousness means Right standing with God. Holiness means Right living for God.

When you think or trust that your right living puts you in right standing, then you've rejected Jesus and trampled on the blood.
If you're living right to be right, you'll be frustrated the rest of your life because you'll constantly feel like you're falling short.
You can't base your life on what you do. Base your life on what He declared you to be!
1 Corinthians 15:34 says, "Awake to righteousness and sin not." Understand your righteousness and the result will be - you won't sin. So right standing precedes right living. Until you get this you won't be healed or prosperous.

Romans 11:16 says, "…if the root be holy, so are the branches." The root of your Christianity is right standing with God. The fruit of your Christianity is right living for God. If your root isn't holy, you can't make the branches holy any other way. You have to know you're in right standing with God.

Romans 3:24-25 say, "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God."

He took the bad root out. The Lamb of God TAKES AWAY the sin of the world.

Romans 5:17 says, "For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ."

It's a gift of Righteousness. Just receive it. How? Romans 10:9 says, "with the heart one believes unto righteousness." Believing in your heart results in right standing with God.

When you believe in your heart, you will have a righteousness-conscience, and and not a sin-conscience.

Righteousness-conscience boldly says "Yes, I've sinned but God has forgiven me and delivered me of it by the blood of Jesus."

Sin-conscience is afraid, reserved, never acts boldly, and is always conscious of the sin he commits. It thinks the sin separates him from God and it causes him to retreat from the Lord.

Romans 10:10 says, "For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Believing comes first! Righteousness comes before action.

Meditate on these scriptures below and get a better understanding of what your righteousness brings you.

WHAT WILL UNDERSTANDING YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (right standing with God) CAUSE?

1. It will cause every one of your prayers to work

I Peter 3:12 The Lord's ears are open to the prayers of the righteous.

James 5:16 The prayer of the righteous avails much.

2. It will provide for your protection from fear of tomorrow.

Matt 6:31-33 Seek first His kingdom and all these good things are going to be added to your life.

3. It brings stability.

Isaiah 54:11-14 In righteousness, you will be established.

4. It causes oppression, fear and terror to be far from you.

Isaiah 54:14 You shall be far from oppression and from terror; for it shall not come near you.

Romans 8:10-11 The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives in you.

5. It delivers you from trouble.

Proverbs 11:8 The righteous are delivered out of trouble. If you're in trouble, find out more about your righteousness.

6. It brings much wealth (reward on earth)

Proverbs 15:6 In the house of the righteous, there is much treasure.

7. When you're the righteous, favor comes.

Proverbs 14:9 Among the righteous, there is favor.

Psalm 5:12 The Lord blesses the righteous; with favor He surrounds him as with a shield.

8. It will make you generous

Proverbs 21:26 The righteous gives and does not spare. You can give freely because God takes care of your tomorrow.

9. When you're the righteous, you'll see your enemies fall.

Proverbs 29:16 You don't have to make your enemy fall.

10. By righteousness, you have joy.

Proverbs 29:6 The righteous sing and rejoice.

If you lack any of these things, awake to Righteousness! Know that you're in right standing with God when you believe in what Jesus did for you. Receive what He did to make you right, and your life will never be the same!

Yours for the harvest,

Pastor Gregory Dickow

Evangelism in China

An evangelist to China told me that there are 100,000 people getting save every day in China.

Jesus sure can cook!

The current population of China at the time I write this is 1,395,637,246.

This is approximately one Chinese person being borne every second, 24/7.

60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours x 365 day = 31,536,000 Chinese born per year.

100,000 saved daily x 365 days = 36,500,000 Chinese saved per year.

36,500,000 Chinese saved per year
-31,536,000 Chinese born per year
4963000 more people being saved than born yearly

1,305,637,389 current pop China...
(divided by) 4,963,000 more saved than born yearly = 263+ years

They need to speed it up.

"Addictions

In Matthew 4 Jesus was tempted by the devil. We all face temptation – even Jesus did. If you’re in the wilderness like He was, you can overcome by doing what He did.

What does the devil do to try to tempt us?

1. The devil questions our identity.
You need to know who you are. You’re a child of God. You are the righteousness of God. What did Jesus do? He quoted Deuteronomy. He’s not making up scripture. Whatever he would have said would become scripture, but He held fast to the Word. Go back to the simple truths of the Word.

Romans 12:1-2 says “And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Bring your mind into subjection of the word by feeding your mind the Word of God. If you’re dealing with smoking and drinking – your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Get in that Word, get your mind renewed, and replace those thoughts with greater thoughts. Open your mouth. Confess any scripture you know and that will consume the thoughts that have consumed you. God has given you this Word so you can be free.

2. The devil tempts us to tempt God.
Tempting God means needing to see God do what He said He would do before we believe what He said. It’s putting God in a position to prove He’s God. He won’t.

Jesus said it is written. It is written. It is written. And the devil left Him. Angels came and ministered to him. Satan leaves, but then you need to be ministered to. It takes energy to resist the devil. It takes persistence. It takes consistency. Build up that habit of speaking the Word.

I John 2:14 says, “I have written unto you young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you are victorious over the evil one.” You’re strong when the Word of God abides in you. John 15:7 says, “If you abide in Me, my words abide in you, you shall ask whatever you wish, and it shall be done for you.” God takes that Word that you have abiding in you, and then He has something to work with.

Read 1 Corinthians 10:13. The devil wants you to think “I don’t know if I can handle this temptation.” But this verse says that God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able. So if you find yourself in a situation, be encouraged. You can get out of it. It’s not impossible.

Here’s how temptation works:

Fantasy ®Flirtation ®Fall

First, you allow it to grow in your mind. Then you begin to flirt with it. Then you fall.

We need to deal with it in the early stages – of fantasy and thought life. That way if we stumble, we can still pull back. You can’t look at pornography. You have to watch over your heart with all diligence. You have to be careful where you go, who you hang around with, what you watch, because you have a responsibility to watch over your heart.

2 Peter 2:9 says, “The Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation.” He gives us the knowledge how to avoid it ourselves. There is only one way to not be tempted – to be dead. Guess what we need to do then – be dead. Your flesh is going to give you impulses – be dead to it. I take up my cross and I die to this.

2 Tim 2:22 says “Flee youthful lusts.” Run with all your might. Run as if your life depended on it. Run with them that call on the Lord from a pure heart. Eccl 4:9 says “Woe to the one who falls and is alone…” Get help when you need it.

Here are a few simple steps to help you:

1. If you’re born again, you are a new creature. God says “Be ye holy, even as I am holy.” He says this over you. He says you already are holy. He made you in His image. If you’ve made Jesus your Lord, then as He is so are you in this world. The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside you. If you’ve never asked Jesus to be your Lord, pray this simple prayer:

2. Repent.

To repent is to change how you think. When you try to take a shortcut to change on the outward, you’ll never be able to change. Romans 12:1-2 says Be transformed by the changing of your mind. It’s your thought life. As I got my mind renewed, my desires change. You’re not going to be able to strongwill yourself into doing it. Addictions can be delivered instantly, but sometimes it’s just that you need your mind renewed. It’s like a pig - you can dress him up, make him look good, but when he sees mud, he’s going to jump in. Why? Because he’s not changed on the inside.

3. Know who you are in Christ.

These scriptures will help you know what you have now that you are in the family of God. Confess these scriptures. As you get these in your heart, your desires will change, and as a result your actions will change.

4. Know that the Curse is broken.

Addictions are sometimes passed down from generation to generation. The Bible says that God will visit the iniquity of the fathers up into the third and fourth generations. But you can make a decision that you can either be one of the four generations of curses, or you can be the first generation of blessings. You need to make that decision today.

How do we Break the Cycle of the Curse of Addiction?

1. You’ve got to sow the opposite of what your parents reaped, if they reaped negative things in their lives, you’ve got to sow the opposite of that, into someone else’s life.

2. You’ve got to identify with the new blood line. I am not a part of the generation of my parents any longer. I’m a part of the new blood line. I’m a part of a new blood line, Jesus became a curse for me, Galatians 3:13 says for cursed is what hangs on a tree, when he died on the cross the generational curses died on the cross with him.

3. Don’t retaliate. Don’t react to what people have done to you, don’t try to get back at somebody, at your relatives or at your parents, or at your kids or at whomever.

4. Accept personal responsibility. It’s your responsibility to drive this mountain out of your life, it’s your responsibility to say to this thing be gone, it’s your responsibility to say to the mountain of curses, be thou removed! And cast into the sea.

5. You’ve got to make different choices than your parents made. If you don’t, then that stuff is going to follow you all the way to your grave. You need to be set free. Now it’s not a feeling, breaking free from a curse is not a feeling, it’s a decision. It’s appropriating the blood of Jesus.

Decide to be the first generation of blessing. Decide that from today on, you choose life, and you identify with the bloodline of Jesus. Identify with what He says. He said “it is written,” and you say, “it is written,” He says “you are holy,” and you say “I am holy.” He says, “you’re more than a conqueror” and you say “I’m more than a conqueror. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” You already are made free by the blood of Jesus and He became that curse for you. Hallelujah! Receive that for your life TODAY!"

J4Jesus,

I agree with you. He really brings a high degree of resolution to the Word. He also puts a great face on being a child of god.

He also has a number of MP3 files of his Sunday services that you can copy to a CD for free. He also has a number of writing on his sight which he encourage people to copy, read and give to others as they see fit.

He also eliminates excessive emotionalism, which has always only served as a distraction for me, from teachings the Word . He has a keen wit, good sense of humor and is one right Preacher.

The only objection that I have is that he isn't in Kansas, where I live.
