Gold Dust and Angel's Feathers?

My teens came home from a youth group meeting
recently, excited about things a prophet had told them.

They said that this guy had told them that when he prays,
'angel's feathers' fall from the ceiling... and something about gold dust too.
(I wasnt listening very closely after they mentioned the
feathers. To be honest, I was trying to figure out what to
say to them.

(Charisma Magazine 8.99) More than 500 people in Toronto now have received gold teeth. The signs and wonders in the church have continued. At Bill Johnson's church in Redding, California small little feathers fall from the ceiling and have been doing that for some time. Bethel has been the sight of some "awesome miracles" recently. The feathers started dropping after a Morning Star Prophet (the Ministry of Rick Joyner) visited the church for a series of meetings. Mr. Kelly a member of Bethel AOG of Redding describes the appearance of feathers: "The feathers thing has been truly amazing. I believe it started when we had the prophet Bobby Conners come to our church for a series of meetings. During ministry time people would see feathers fall from the ceiling and Bobby explained it as a sign of angelic activity.. (I thought it was dove feathers). I'm not sure if he was saying they were angel feathers or not.. But ever since he came we have seen feathers falling from the ceiling.. they are very small and delicate, and not many fall, but you can see them from a good distance.. God is always surprising us with new things

I was disappointed to hear this because I have enjoyed listening
to Bethel's BJ on the computer several times.

you know, I don't see any stuff like this in the NT churches.

I think this was awhile back & it was called "The Toronto Blessing"?
But I consider it either a total crock, something wierd in the
koolaid they served or possibly if it WAS a real thing, more
of a dark spirit source.

I honestly don't know, but I just don't buy into that stuff. & why
is it ALWAYS with Charismatics?
Why don't we see this phenomenon with other denoms or non denoms?

Angels are spirits. Ministering spirits.
How could they have physical feathers?

Maybe a bird got caught in a ceiling fan and that was the source of the feathers.

I have read about a couple that were non-Catholic.
I tried to find some links about them right now. But I can not.

well I have never heard of such a thing. I have never witnessed such a thing. I have never read in the scriptures of this so I would also be questioning this..

Jesus said He would send the Comforter to us. The Holy Spirit reproves the world of sin righteousness and Judgement.
The Holy Spirit leads people into all truth, not gold dust or feathers.
the Holy Spirit testifies of Jesus, not angels.
The Holy Spirit brings to our remembrance the Words of Jesus, therefore we must study the Words of Jesus so they can be brought to our remembrance at the needed times.Renew our minds with the washing of the Word not with prophets theology.
the fruit of the Holy Spirit is love and peace and joy,longsuffering ,patience ,self cotrol, not boasting, etc.
Since love is the fruit of the Holy Spirit corinthians decribes what love is.
Jesus said if you love me you will keep my commandents.
Much of Jesus teachings focused on love compassion and ministering to the needy and those who cannot return good deeds, also He preached on doing the good deeds in secret.He also taught about the condition of the heart and making the inside of the cup clean.He taught about dying to ourselves.He taught about seeking Gods righteousness, and forgiving people, not gold dust ,feathers .
I have not seen any where that Jesus taught about focusing on Gold dust or angel feathers
Jesus said no one comes to the Father but by Me , not angels.
Do these ministries teach about repentance and faith in Jesus,about obeying Jesus in all things.Do people go away with a conviction to repent and obey Jesus and minister to the needy.
Do people go away with a conviction to go privately and shut the door and pray.
Jesus went away often to pray , He is our example.
The proof of the presence of the Holy Spirit is focusing on Jesus , committing to repent and obey Jesus and the fruit of the spirit, as well as ministering to the needy in secret,and cleaning up our hearts,( the inside of the cup) Not gold dust falling or angel feathers.

I agree to being cautious, to say the least.

The Catholic Church goes to great lengths to test such things. There are many signs today and we must not be quick to assume they are from God.

I find this stuff bewildering. Someone I know well was praying with another person for healing and my friend ended up with a gold tooth he didn't have before. I don't doubt that he's telling the truth, and I've seen the tooth (hey, it rhymes!) but you have to wonder why on earth would God do that? This friend needs healing himself for a serious condition, a gold tooth seems like a poor alternative. I don't understand it at all.

I agree with you. It does not make sense and does not seem to be how God would choose to reveal himself. If there was healing and no gold tooth then it would sound like God but... no healing and something of this world is given, it sounds like something else to me.

It's nothing more than a stage trick just like most televangelists use. If you want to impress me, find me an evangelical church where they have a preserved 1600 year old corpse like we have in some of our Catholic churches

I have seen some pics of ones a hundred to a few hundred years, never heard of one that old.

Hey Sonny girl...I'm all for walking in a spirit filled life but when I see/hear stuff like this I tend to give it wide birth and let God deal with His kids...Things like this tend to be a distraction from what we really need...

I have seen some pics of ones a hundred to a few hundred years, never heard of one that old.

I found one 1600 years old, Ambrose.
He doesn't look so good though.

Now Bernadette is a different story.I know she has a thin coating of wax, if I remember right, but one would think you were just looking at someone that is just sleeping.

Hate to spoil the party, but small birds like sparrows routinely make nests in ceilings (as well as under eavestroughs...). Likewise they also have very small feathers. I've worked in buildings with high vaulted ceilings (much like many churches) that have nested sparrows...
