I agree. I would like to try being in a relationship even if just for onceIronically, in my church, I think many singles are single by choice. Many of them already had relationships in the past although none resulting to marriage and many are divorcees and single parents.
I'm not sure if I'm single by choice myself. If my circumstances are different, I might have taken the chance to get to know someone even just for a friend.
Yeah ,it's a choice, I fear it is being taught they need a Mini Christ, a 'Super Apostle.' You strive to be that, b/c Christ is your passion, but it's never enough. Unless you're a Bible Study Leady or Missionary, a "Super Apostle", it's like you can't get married to a godly woman, they're taught to want that, & that's good I suppose, but can every man be a Bible Study Leader or Missionary? I feel like I just want a godly man who actually has a relationship with God and doesn't just talks the talk but walks the walk. He doesn't have to be in a leadership role. In fact, I would prefer if he didn't because if he was a pastor or missionary I would never see him because he will always be on the go and busy. Maybe that is selfish of me. lolI'm not sure if single women in our church behave the same way because I never tried to talk to any of the single women in our church.
But I won't be surprised if a "godly woman" would only be interested in men who have leadership qualities and eager/ambitioning to become ministry leader, etc.
Honestly I'm not convinced it's a winning formula for Godly women. Because there are many Christian men whose eagerness to get lead roles outweigh their desire to uncover the truth. Because everything you do ends up worthless if it doesn't have truth in it.
I mean, generally there's nothing wrong w/ desiring these Super Apostles b/c many do desire to preach the truth, & those desiring the Super Apostles want them to preach the truth. So it's good. But those of us who aren't - what are to do. We don't want the worldly. He could be a youth ministry leader. It's taught you know someone is walking the walk b/c they are in a church leadership role b/c accountability. But this isn't what Bible says. It says different people have different roles. Our righteousness & desire for God isn't based on our role in the church. & as members in Christ's body, we all have people, the other parts of his body, keeping us accountable.I feel like I just want a godly man who actually has a relationship with God and doesn't just talks the talk but walks the walk. Thanks for trying to help. Yeah, the world is big, we have a big God! But If I can't get married here, what good would moving somewhere else do.The world is so much bigger than just the USA. the flesh.I am wanting to find a church again and start going. I haven't been to church since 2014. Before I was a younger adult and fit in with the youth group crowd. Now I am a bit older and in my 30s and don't quite fit in with the young kids anymore. I am also single and never had kids. I realize a lot of people in my age group are parents or married now, and I am worried I may feel left out or like I don't fit in. I have autism and social anxiety so this worries me a lot. I would also be going all by myself. This is going to be a nerve-wrecking experience but I know I really want to do it.
My anxiety keeps telling me if I go, people will avoid me because I am weird, or women will not want to talk to me because they will judge me or think there must be something wrong with me. I also worry about not feeling like I can be part of things, because a lot of church sermons and groups are centered around families and children.
My question is, is there any older singles here who have gone through this before, and do you think I will run into any problems or feel left out?

You don't get too old searching.Large differences in upbringing, cultures, and circumstances in life. It sounds like you've never been outside of USA nor had close friendship with someone from outside of USA who did not grew up in the American culture.
I'm not saying it's better but if you're not having any success looking for someone, you may consider it as your last or final option before you get too old searching.
