  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I am Pentecostal in my faith system and grew up in the AOG in South Africa but became an adherant of the Salvation Army in the 1990s [I still have my badge somewhere] when there was no AOG church in my town. Later I returned to support the newly opened AOG Church.

I have always loved the Salvation Army for its stand on the gospel and determination to reach the unsaved. We lived next door to the Salvo officers in Queenstown South Africa and Jane and I used to play together through the high fence surrounding their home [I think we weren't supposed to associate for some reason but kids don't care about that]. My dad was the minister of the AOG church there.

I have very fond memories of Captain Jim Ellem and also the time when the Salvation Army helped me during a period of unemployment.

Just thought I'd like to say hi, thanks for the memories and keep up the good work.
