Gakatians 6:1-2
1Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
2Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
I use to get on my soap box about smoking. I discuss health issues not just Christian issue.
Later on in my life guess what, I became a late in life smoker.
I used to get on my soap box about people who knew the Lord, but didn't come to church anymore and didn't live a life that someone who didn't know them would think they were a Christian.
Then I fell away from the church and the Lord, and did things that if people didn't know me they would not know I was a Christian.
Looking at verse 1 in Galatians we see that we are to restore a brother if he is overtaken in fault. We are to do this in meekness so that we are not tempted also.
So, I guess you can say I was taught some lessons in my life, and trust me these aren't the only lesson that I have had to learn in my life.
So how should we restore Christians when they are overtaken? Does that count for the ones whose names everyone knows or just the ones from the small church in the dell?
We are to treat people how we would want to be treated the Bible says. Do We?
I am assuming that everyone agrees that because of the way I acted I was tempted, and failed.
Thoughts?
