Ephesians 3:
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given,
that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from
the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places
might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,
11 According to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord:
God's eternal purpose is being revealed not just to man, but every power
in the heavenlies. What is being revealed is that God and His Son can and will
rule in the affairs of men, by way of His Spirit given to faithful men. For all who
are not manifesting the character of the Son of Man/Son of God are none of His.
This will culminate in the Millennial Reign of Christ and His Elect, after which
He will return in glory. What would result if the glorified Son of Man returned
to a defiled earth, not yet fully restored? We are told precisely what would happen!
2 Peter 3:
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens
will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat;
both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
11 Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons
ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness,
12 looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God,
because of which the heavens will be dissolved, being on fire,
and the elements will melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens
and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.
This occurs at the end of the Age, after the restoration of all things.
Acts 3:
19 Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out,
so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord,
20 and that He may send Jesus Christ, who was preached to you before,
21 whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things,
which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.
The belief that Jesus returns at any time before "the last day", as He has promised
is to swing wide open the doors of deception for those who would find comfort therein.
