Ezekiel 38 describes a coalition of Gog, Magog, Persia, and other mideast nations that come down upon Israel.
Some people say that can't happen as long as Israel us at war, because it says in 3 places Israel dwells "safely."

Ezekiel 38:8,
"After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them."

38:11,
"And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates."

38:14,
"Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?"

The word "safely" is Betach, which can also mean boldly or confidently. But it can also be translated "carelessly," as in Ezekiel 39:6,
"And I will send a fire on Magog, and among them that dwell CARELESSLY (betach) in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD."

The word is also translated "carelessly" in Isaiah 46:8 in reference to Babylon,
"Therefore hear now this, thou that art given to pleasures, that dwellest CARELESSLY, that sayest in thine heart, I am, and none else beside me..."
And in Zephaniah 2:15 regarding Assyria and Nineveh, "This is the rejoicing city that dwelt CARELESSLY, that said in her heart, I am, and there is none beside me: how is she become a desolation..."

Note the same wording about these two different nations & cities, "I am, and there is none else beside me." USA does same, in pride, and in sin. We may have the best opportunities on the world, the American dream, and all that, but along with all that comes corruption by those very riches, and sinful pleasures, and abominations, as I've said before, the US government promotes LGBTQ to the entire world, and abortion, and sorcery, both occult and drug.

And, who are they that dwell carelessly in the isles? Aleph Yod , "i" in Hebrew, means islands, coastland, or country. Do they dwell carelessly, or securely, or maybe both carelessly and secure? Britain comes to mind, and North America, and there's the reference to the young lions of Tarshish in Ezekiel 38:13, which could be America, because ships from Tarshish had sailed to North America. You can so some research and find Phoenician ships, ships of Tarshish came to New England in BC times.

So, everything in these Ezekiel verses has taken place, except for the part about them being at rest in vs 11. It can mean "settled" also, but pretty much means rest, quiet.

What we do see is the coalition forming as an alliance: Russia, Iran, Libya, Sudan (Ethiopia), with the odd one being Turkey because its a NATO country.
Oddly also is that Syria isn't mentioned, but we can look at Isaiah 17 and see the reason may be Damascus us destroyed by Israel first, which may even be the political reasoning behind the attack.
As it is, Israel just recently bombed the Russian air base in Syria, and Russia is helping arm Hezbollah. Even today Israeli forces are finding large stockpiles of Russian weapons in Lebanon, used by Hezbollah.

Jesus is calling those unto Him whom He has chosen. He is cleaning house in His church., and He as sovereign God is stirring up thongs in the world. The godless and sinners will go on in their sin and die in those very sins, the Holy shall be holy still,
just as Revelation 22:11 proclaims,
"He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still."

Joshua 24:15, uttered and written around 3,400 years ago, still apply today, and perhaps even more so, as we see the end approaching,
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD"

Indeed, "For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?" (2 Peter 4:17)

This principle is also revealed in Ezekiels vision, and I'll quote here Ezekiel 9:1-6,
"He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man with his destroying weapon in his hand.
And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them was clothed with linen, with a writer's inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which had the writer's inkhorn by his side;
And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
Slay utterly old and young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom is the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which were before the house."

That's judgment beginning at the house of God folks, pure and simple. Its no light thing to offend a Holy God, the Creator of the heavens and earth, who is all knowing, and all powerful, who shall shake the very foundations of the earth, and the heavens: Even as I write this on Sabbath morning, NASA is warning strong solar storms impacting earth at present, and by the way, there's also 5 large asteroids passing near earth, but don't worry, they are only 1 million to 3.6 million kilometers away. There shall be great signs in the heaven...

Soon then may there "appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn when they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds if heaven with great power and glory." (Matthew 4:30)

You are right, Russia is cozying up with Middle Eastern countries, according to the Atlantic Council (as of 2022). This stuff is scary, man. If we were to blame one country for messing up our world in the 2020s, it would be Russia. Pray that the Russian government officials change their ways, and push for peace, instead of inciting violence.

About the solar storms, do not worry, as the storms today are not powerful enough to wipe out our infrastructure. Worst case scenario, just make sure to unplug the TV or computer, unless one is sure that they are connected to a circuit breaker. Even then, solar storms are only likely to mess up the GPS satellites during the duration of the storm. However, if we get a large solar storm like the one back in 1859 (Carrington Event), then we will have cause for concern.

Atlantic Council news about Russia:

Russia's been aligned with most of the middle east for decades. Except for Israel & the Saudis most everyone else flies Russian built fighter planes, though Iran still has some US planes from long ago. They actually have F4 Phantoms, F14s and F5s, but they also have Russian Su24 and Mig29s.

The Carrington Event today would be devastating. I don't have TV, and only phone and laptop, and been fine.

All these planes, regardless of age can still be devastating. The United States should have never let Iran take the F4s and F14s. The Migs are pretty dangerous planes, so if we could somehow prevent Russia from getting supplies to make fighter jets, we could prevent Russia from making more weapons and fighter jets, though I am not an expert on sanctions.

We are blessed not to have a Carrington event, cos I do not want my TV to break, but more importantly, I do not want the grid to go out. You are blessed not to have TV, as it can be a distraction.

Oh yes, the Phantom and Tomcat can still do a lot of damage, especially against nations equipped with only older aircraft, like Mig 21s, though that aircraft is also still used with devastating effects in some countries like Sudan, Syria, etc. They'd have a harder time against Israeli or Saudi aircraft.

As for Russia Ukraine I don't believe we should be involved at all, based mainly on 2 things (I've had both Russian & Ukrainian friends - it's not about the people, and I'd like to see the war end)

1 is Luke 14:28-32,
For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?
Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him,
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
(Especially this)
Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace."

The US is depleting it's own supplies to foster a stalemate while risking nuclear war!

2: I don't believe in NATO expansions, especially of a country that historically has either been part of Russia or very closely tied to Russia. Sure they've had their conflicts, but so has US had civil war.
Making Ukraine NATO would be akin to when Russia put missiles in Cuba, and we know what the US reaction to that was.

Goes to show how old military equipment is still formidable in 2024. Just imagine, if we were to send a 1970s fighter jet into the 1940s during the height of WW2, we could have won many battles in mere hours, though that is just speculation on my part.

That quote from Luke 14:28-32 is still relevant today, as we must plan ahead before going headfirst into a project, war or even building a tower (cough, cough... incomplete skyscrapers, or delayed construction projects). The second part about peace is even more important. No one seems to be listening to the words of Jesus anymore. :(

The US and other countries have no plan for ending the war, or at least making a ceasefire plan. We have spent billions on these foreign wars or more...

And yes, NATO expansions could be risky. It is up to the Ukrainian people to vote on this though, and to be informed of the risks and benefits of becoming part of NATO or staying unaffiliated. Me personally, I feel that Western Ukraine (anything west of Kiev) could be part of NATO, but Eastern Ukraine could be not part of NATO, as to allow a buffer zone of a few hundred kilometers between NATO and Russia. Where exactly this buffer zone could be drawn is up to an agreement. Blessed are the peacemakers. If only we could find some peacemakers.

Poorly drawn map of the hypothetical Western Ukraine NATO section. Eastern Ukraine could remain neutral.

Wow, I was saying same thing back 10 years ago! And your map is pretty much what I envisioned, except Western Ukraine would just be Ukraine with economic ties to both Europe & Russia, and Eastern part be Russia.

There was a movie years ago where a US carrier got caught in a time vortex and it was day before Pearl Harbor. The Final Countdown, 1980,
And it was F14 Tomcats in the film, real ones, no CGI.

Wait what? We both had the same idea for the map of Ukraine, you back in the 2010s, and me just this morning? Can the US hire me as a diplomat?

Wow, this is cool. It seems that both of our concepts could be a good idea. About that movie, I might have watched the Final Countdown, or maybe it was the Philadelphia Experiment (1984), cos both movies have sci-fi elements, and one discussed a cloaking device. War movies are pretty cool in general.
