The Latino Christian vote shifted strongly in support of President-elect Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, according to exit polls.

Responses collected from 22,914 voters in exit polls show major changes among certain demographics that likely played a role in Trump securing the White House.

While nearly every demographic group moved in favor of Trump compared to the 2020 election, his gains were most pronounced among Catholics. According to 2020 exit polling data, President Joe Biden received 52% of the Catholic vote while Trump received 47%.

Amen!
Praise the Lord! I am thankful that millions of Latino Christians in the USA have had their fill in putting up with the progressive left wing liberal wokeness and the lies from the leaders in the Democratic Party.

A lot of it is misogyny. Most immigrant men are not as accepting of powerful accomplished women, so that even a far, far inferior candidate could turn them.
Or it could be the whole narrative that questioning a candidate who happens to be a female POC automatically makes you some kind of villain. The knee-jerk cries of "misogyny!" are repulsive, as are identity politics in general.

This is the kind of explanation people throw out (without offering evidence, of course) to try to throw the issues at something other than the Democrats and Harris. I'm reminded of this classic Simpsons joke:

Indeed, it seems to me this narrative can be easily disproved by the following graph (taken from CNN).

If it's misogyny and bias against women, why in the world did a higher percentage of Latino men vote for Clinton than Biden? Note also that we see the same pattern of increasing Trump support among Latina women as well, even if not to the same extent as the men.

She lost because she was a terrible candidate, in my opinion.

It has nothing to do with her gender.

But misogyny is the narrative being spooned out to everyone!

What I see around me here in Texas is that Latinos are not a monolithic group in that respect. Despite Republican claims, the Latino voters are citizens, and they're not necessarily on board with illegal immigration either. That's particularly true if the nationality of the current immigrants is different from their own original nationality. The ethnic Mexican citizens in my mostly Latino neighborhood are alarmed at the recent influx of Guatemalans and Nicaraguans.

I recall, with a bit of humor-tinged chagrin, when I was a leader of a youth group in Illinois ten years ago, when a fight had started between two of the Latino boys and we had to call in their mothers. One mother was quick to point out, "They're not even legal!"

Yup. I doubt the left would say that if Michele Bachmann was the candidate ;)
I live in an area with a sizable Latino population and are friends with many of them. The old misogyny trope is typecasting imo.

Plenty of Latinos are conservative and Catholic AND. support President Trump. There is no contradiction in their policies.

Lol. Until yesterday you would have supported Latinos without qualifications, now they're all misogynists.

Maybe offer men a legitimate place within your movement and give them a reason and purpose to vote for you.

Or maybe Latinos, like most other Trump voters, were not wanting all the illegals pouring in over the border.
That's definitely could be a reason. Many, many latino and hispanic people are here legally. Some are even patriotic.

While I am sympathetic, I don't think that analysis is helpful or even necessarily true, and is too simplistic and falls for stereotypes.

In truth, I think many people are just angrier and more irrational now. They expected a bounce back from COVID and prices to go down, and they didn't. It wasn't going to happen, not in a million years, but that's what people expected. The less educated people were, the more they fell for demagogues poking at the perceived economic weaknesses.
