To be fair, he hasn’t posted at all since Tuesday.Interesting OP is standing by this…
...especially as most of the "facts" reported by Channel 3 (I imagine an American channel) are wrong. Three children were killed, not two. It was a dance event, not a yoga event. The suspect's name was not Ali-Al-Shakati. He was not an asylum seeker who arrived in the UK by boat last year, but in fact he was born in the UK.This is not a good stance to take.
The channel appears to have been linked to Russia Today. Try Channel 3Now if you are curious. Not being American, I don't know anything about Channel 3, but it seems as if it could do a lot to improve its fact checking before broadcasting such falsehoods.
Thanks for that information. I'm not interested enough in Channel 3 to follow the link, but thanks anyway! The channel appears to have been linked to Russia Today. Try Channel 3Now if you are curious. (You will be asked to accept their cookies before seeing anything)
I only looked because I saw 'RT' on the now broken link in the first post. I tried to check but did not find it.Thanks for that information. I'm not interested enough in Channel 3 to follow the link, but thanks anyway!
Misinformation was used by neo-Nazis; it was a pretext. There have been similarly unpleasant incidents for a long time, though not on the scale of last weekend.UK riots plunge country into worst unrest in years, prime minister vows to apply 'full force of law'
All over misinformation.
Dozens of police officers have been hospitalized for injuries in the past six days after being struck with bricks, bottles, chairs and large wooden posts.
On Sunday, angry mobs attacked two hotels used to house asylum seekers, breaking windows and lighting fires before police dispersed the crowds and residents were evacuated.
"The disinformation that we’ve seen online attracts amplification from known bot activity, which, as I say, can be linked to state-backed activity," the spokesperson [for the PM] said.
To be fair, the third child died later in hospital. And the instructor was also a yoga teacher....especially as most of the "facts" reported by Channel 3 (I imagine an American channel) are wrong. No, it is not over mis-information. It is becoming very clear that the awful events of last Monday were nothing more than an excuss and a convenient trigger. Most of the protests and riots have occured after the suspect was named.
It was, no doubt, an opportunity. These events appear to have had an element of co-ordination, of organisation. The attacks were certainly not random. Somebody must have given instructions - when and where. Many rioters came on the same train to Southport and many already had their balaclavas and so on. There clearly was premeditation.Whether they saw this as the 'perfect' opportunity, or had riots already in mind and were just waiting for for someone non-white to attack some innocent victims, who knows.
The Judge at the initial Crown Court Hearing in the UK took the decision to name the defendant. The arguments against naming were he was still a minor in law (under 18 in the UK and thus covered by the Children’s Act) and once 18 that he can be seen as an adult with some vulnerabilities (ASD is a spectrum ranging from those able to be fully independent to those in need of specialised care) If he had met the threshold for specialised care then an unfit to plead would have been made And he would be referred Ina to the forensic psychiatric services for further assessments.Arguing against naming the defendant, the prosecution said he had an "autism spectrum disorder diagnosis" and had been "unwilling to leave the house and communicate with family for a period of time".
I don't know that that's significant, but I don't think it's been mentioned.
Yes misinformation.UK riots plunge country into worst unrest in years, prime minister vows to apply 'full force of law'

It is a tiny number really. Too many, of course but keep this in proportion, please. The rioters are generally not local to the area. They are coordinated by social media and gather at predetermined venues.Yes misinformation.
But true or not, there were/are still loads of people ready to switch to violent mode and terrorize other people over the immigration issue.
Ah. Yeah I fell into the trap of using media images to paint too broad a picture. It is a tiny number really. Too many, of course but keep this in proportion, please. The rioters are generally not local to the area. They are coordinated by social media and gather at predetermined venues.
The images are interesting. We see a lot of by-standers who may or may not be involved but help to create the sense of a crowd. Even so, the latest number available is 428 arrests.Ah. Yeah I fell into the trap of using media images to paint too broad a picture.
